Advantages Moisturises, SPF-15, Lasts a long time

Disadvantages Tastes funny, should be cheaper

As I've said before, I suffer from really chapped lips so have tried loads of lip balms.
The Body Shop Vitamin E Lip Care is one of the balms I'm using at the minute. This is the only product from the 'Vitamin E' range at The Body Shop that I have ever tried.

The balm comes without any cardboard packaging. The tube is a light pink colour with green writing on the label. The label contains all the information about the product on the underside. It advises you to peel back the label to read this, however unless you really need to I wouldn't touch it as it doesn't stick back down properly. The design is very plain, especially compared to other The Body Shop ranges I own. The lid is small and clear and after taking it off one morning I dropped and couldn't see it on the carpet.

To get the product out you have to twist the bottom of the tube and a hard stick of balm rises from the top. You can then twist back down so you don't waste any.

The balm is very hard but the warmth of my lips melts it just enough to coat my lips. Because it isn't runny you don't use more that you need. It really feels like it's moisturising my lips and it stays put for a long time so I don't have to reapply very often. Another advantage is that it contains SPF-15 so protects my lips from the sun. The downside of the balm is that it tastes a bit funny when you first apply it. I didn't think it was supposed to be flavoured and though I was just tasting the beeswax but the product description says it actually has a vanilla flavour. It tastes nothing like vanilla to me and I think I'm used to the funky taste of it now.

This balm costs £4.00 so isn't a bank breaker but for a small balm it isn't exactly a great deal either.

Ingredients: Ricinus communis (Castor Oil) (Emollient), Hydrogenated Coconut Oil (Emollient/Hair Conditioner), Olea europaea (Olive Oil) (Emollient), Cera Alba (Beeswax) (Emulsifier/Emollient), Candelilla Cera (Candelilla Wax) (Stabiliser), Octyl Methoxycinnamate (Sunscreen), Benzophenone-3 (Oxybenzone) (Sunscreen), Cocos nucifera (Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil) (Emollient/Hair Conditioner), Tocopheryl Acetate (Antioxidant), Calendula officinalis (Calendula Extract) (Natural Additive), Vanilla planifolia (Vanilla Extract) (Natural Additive), Ammonium Glycyrrhizate (Flavour), Echinacea purpurea (Coneflower) (Natural Additive), Tocopherol (Antioxidant).

Summary: A decent lip balm which moisturises well. Buy it when it's on offer to get your moneys worth.
