www.Boltblue.com is another of those websites which provides a free SMS service. I have found this site to be one of the best that I have used. Along with the free SMS service you can also get Ring Tones for most Nokia phones, new Operator Logos, e-mail and there is also news and weather available.
The variety of the RingTones and Operator Logos available is quite extenisive and is organised very well into individual categories. For the Operator Logos you get a good idea of what it will look like as they give you a preview of the logo.The e-mail is the usual of what you would expect from a web based e-mail service. This again I have found resonably fast compared to other sites, which were a lot slower
The news and weather sections is also quite good and is up to date. It offers subject areas such as "Arts & Culture", "Finance & Business", "International News", "Technology & Media", "People", "Sports News", "Top News" and "News from UK and Ireland".When sending messages you have to type in the phone number, like usual, but you leave off the 0 and you have to put in the international dialing code 44 for the UK, this can get quite confusing! There is a limit of 110 characters in your message, which isn't the best. However I have found that the messages that I have sent from this site get through quite quickly. This is quite nice as some sites have peaks where it takes ages for the messages to get through, Boltblue doe snot seem to have this problem.
To be able to use this service you have to register with the site, which is the norm these days and is not much hassle and is done without too much trouble. The layout of the site is quite good, however some of the services have obscure names, but after a while you get used to them.The only thing about this SMS site is the fact that the free ring tones and operator logos are only for Nokia phones. I'm sure that you can add ring tones to other phones that just Nokia. This would be a vast improvement if other phone makes were supported at this site. This would only be anoying to people without a Nokia phone.

My daughter uses this site quite often, and thinks it is really cool as they say these days. The only thing is, that now they have started charging for them, like most sites these days :( Great opinion - Thanks Donna.
