Bonjela Cool Mint gel is a pain relieving gel which also reduces inflammation and helps fight infection in mouth ulcers, brace sores, denture sores, teething and cold sores
Advantages: Great for clearing mouth ulcers and gingivitis Disadvantages: Some people have found that it can discolour teeth
...I am one of those unfortunate people who suffers from mouth infections and ulcers whenever I am run down, tired or just stressed out. Usually I just reach for my trusty Bonjela or Anbesol but at times, something a little bit stronger is needed. This is where Corsodyl mouthwash comes in.
~ What exactly is it?
Corsodyl is a mouthwash which is only sold behind the counter in pharmacies (ie. you need to ask for it). It contains the active ingredient Chlorhexidine which is an antibacterial agent and recommended by dentists for use in mouth infections such as gingivitis (which affects the gums) and ordinary mouth ulcers.
It is available in two flavours: mint and aniseed. I personally buy the mint version because I don’t like aniseed in general and try to avoid anything with this flavour at all. Also, I always find Mint...

Advantages: no more ouchy Disadvantages: ugg. oh and er..none really
...of Bonjela™. I tried again with a tad more luck this time and (I can only assume) got it bang on target.
The slippery nature of this gel is the only downside I can even begin to think of. Mostly because I'm still hung over so my brain's hardly in a place to write a review. And yet I continue…hmm.
Actually I lied. The gel is clear. Another downside! Clear gel + saliva = Where the fark have I put the gel?? Not being able to see it once you stick it in your mouth is a bit of a pain and you just have to trust your mouth.
When I apply this lovely stuff, I get a very strong tingly sensation. The Bonjela tends to give me a bit of a tingle too. It's not strong enough to be unpleasant though, so it's a welcome change when compared to the general "BLEH, ULCER! Grumble" feeling you should have just before you use this.
I find the flavour quite nice...

Advantages: long lasting, freshens, tastes lovely Disadvantages: none that i know of
.... The fresh mint appears as a blue, deep blue gel. Once on your toothbrush, and as normal add bit of water, you start to brush. I can honestly say it does freshen your mouth. It foams inside and i believe you can imagine yourself actually feeling it working. You dont need to put much on the brush, its like a concentrate, so the container will last.
Taste: well i chose the fresh mint, and while brushing, it does leave your breath and mouth feeling cool, and refreshed, and there is a distinct aroma of fresh mint, and the taste is adorable (im one of these who likes to taste some even when not brushing).
After effect: after finishing brushing rinse your mouth out, and its heaven. No i mean literally, heaven. My mouth felt refreshed and the after taste of the mint was gorgeous, even my fella loved it. My gums felt as though they had been given...
