Twaddle Last night, just after feeling up a hot bloke and right before continuing getting drunk off my tits, I felt a tingle. Only for a second, but it was there. The drink probably numbed it after that. After a fabulous night out I braved the bus back home and rather drunkenly decided it would be a perfect time to make spaghetti bolognaise from scratch. After eating I promptly fell into bed, setting my alarm (ever so sensibly) for 11 o'clock so as to give myself enough time to shower before I rolled into work at 11:30. Awaking at 11:20 was a bit of a shock you may imagine. After realising ... more

From time to time I tend to get tiny little ulcer type sores on the side of my tongue. Generally a little rinse with a good mouthwash and or a rinse with some salted water and the problem is resolved. However there are the odd occasions where this tried and trusted method has failed and I usually just live with the ulcers and they go away naturally. Again there are times where even this fails and I either have to retry the first method or cough up £2.30 odd for another yet tried and trusted method. As with most medicines there are several alternatives available for my uncomfortable predicament ... more

Kai didn't suffer too badly when he was teething because of his amber necklace (natural pain relief which kept the pain away most of the time during teething), but I bought some bonjella anyway and would apply it whenever he was in discomfort or pain, and it worked really quickly. I use it myself as well whenever I have an ulcer or a sore tongue. It works really quickly and basically numbs the area. Bonjella has been around since I was a baby so I see it as a trusted product and this is why I chose it over all of the other teething pain relief medication, because I know that it works. It comes ... more

Advantages Advantages Cools and soothes mouth ulcers effectively, can be applied every 3 hours

Disadvantages Disadvantages Taste won't appeal to everyone, hurts to apply, needs to be used often

I don't get mouth ulcers very often, but when I do I am very grateful for anything that helps lessen the discomfort. I first used Bonjela a good 10 years ago and I have found it to be the most effective treatment that I have tried as well as one of the most easily available. Since I first purchased it there has been some changes, due to the fact that it's main active ingredient Choline Salicylate is now thought to raise the risk of children developing the rare but serious medical condition Reyes Syndrome. This means that the standard Bonjela gel is now labelled as suitable for those over the ... more
