Advantages: Not too heavy going, value for money, real world examples Disadvantages: It's accounting!
Understanding BusinessAccounting for Dummies, by John A. Tracy and Colin Barrow is a great book for anyone who takes an interest in the world of business, and seeks an understanding of accounting.
When studying accounting for the first time in my first year at University, I struggled with the concept throughout the year. There tends to be those who can do it, and those who can't with accounting, and unfortunately, I was one of those who struggled. The course text book was complex, and meant for higher level understandings of the subject. In the end, I had to retake the module after I failed my first attempt.
As I was struggling with the course textbook, I went in search of a more simplistic look at accounting and its relation to business situations. The 'For Dummies' series is obviously a worldwide known brand, and this particular ...
Advantages: Well written, nice pictures included, interesting read Disadvantages: Not challenging reading but it isnt expected really!
suffered because of it.
It moves on to talk about Peter's early experiences of singing and his trying to get noticed in the music industry. It seemed to have happened to him very quickly, luckily for him! I enjoyed reading about his early career because it was very interesting and I didn't really know about Peter Andre in his earlier career. I was surprised at some of the things he had to go through, and to be honest, reading his book has been a huge eye-opener, I have a lot more respect for him!
His career, the highs and the lows, is fully accounted in the book, and also his breakdown, which he has also discussed on his TV show on ITV2 lately. It was quite hard reading when he was recounting his breakdown, but you can see how it has altered his life.
The second half of the book is much more focused on the relationship between Peter ...
Advantages: Free UK business Banking Disadvantages: Restricted usage of account
-ins and any Link machine in the UK for withdrawals.
I have a cheque book in my business name, freepost envelopes for correspondence with the bank as well as a great stylish folder to keep all my statements in as well as the handbook related to the account operation.
The account allows me to pay in up to 50 cheques per month and withdraw up to £ 500 per day (depending on funds of course). In addition I receive 3% gross interest on all money in the account.
This account also allows the owner to do the really modern stuff of online banking.
But this account really is for smallbusinesses only, so if your turnover goes over the threshold of £50000 per annum, you will be charged extra.
I must say, that I am most impressed with this service, fast efficient and utmost professional, and if I need any advice I just call them on their local ...
