Advantages Very good quality

Disadvantages bulky

We were given this cot from a friend two years ago when their grandchildren had become too big for it and it has been a God send.

I look after my grandchildren two days a week and they often stay overnight so we need a cot to ensure they have somewhere to sleep. This cot is great because it can be used for a long time as it's more than just a cot.

This is a cot bed. This means that it is larger than your average cot and it can be transformed into a bed afterwards. It is suitable to be used up to about the age of 4 whereas a cot is usually beginning to get too small for a baby at around a year-18 months so you will get your money's worth out of this. You can also have it as a 'day bed' as you can take just one side off if you like which gives it the option of being a bit like a fancy sofa.

It is called a sleigh bed because it is shaped like a sleigh with it's rounded legs which I think makes it look quite elegant and different although of course it does maen it takes up more room so if you don't have much room this cot may be too bulky for you.

Our bed is a different colour to this one, more of a beach colour.

You can buy mattresses and sheets that will fit it even though it's not a cot or a bed there are mattresses and sheets which are made just to fit this sized cot bed so you don't need to worry about not being able to get hold of any.

The side lifts down so you just push it up and then it will drop down so you can lift your baby out without having to heave them over the high side. This is easy enough to do. Also the mattress lowers down too so at first your baby will be on the highest setting and then as your baby grows you move it further down so it's harder for them to climb out! My husband always helps with this as it's a bit difficult to do.

It isn't too low to the ground so there is space underneath to store things which is good.

We have used this as a cot bed and it looked very nice with the sides off and my grandchildren sleep fine in it but now we have the sides back on for my youngest grandchild.

What is good is that you can use this for a long time so it's worth paying extra money for and you don't have to worry about buying a big 'normal' sized bed until about 4 years old!

We got this free from friends but it costs usually around £400.
