Product Reviewing: Boots Botanics moisturising deep clean foam
--Before-- As you all know by now, I’m mad on beauty products. Not so much the expensive ranges like Clinique (but since reading reviews on here I think I will be purchasing a lot of there products soon) but the cheaper ranges like Boots own make, especially the Botanics range and my favorite of all time, St Ives! As I’m rather a fan of Botanics, I saw the little weekend pack for £8, which included quite a few miniature products. In it was this deep clean foam. I liked the sound of it from the very start, and my opinion increases each time I use it.
--The packaging-- The full size foam comes in a 150ml tube, which stands, on its lid. I like the products that stand on their lid as when you're using up the last bit, it comes out a lot easier as it runs to the bottom. This product has actually been re-packaged and the ingredients are now different. The particular one I’m reviewing has a yellow green label with red and a darker green writing. As I’ve mentioned in other reviews, not very nice at all. I really like Botanics how they set everything out on the back of the product. They list the Benefits, directions and ingredients. They don't add a load of other nonsense that you don't need to know about.
--How to Use-- It's simple really; you massage it into damp skin and rinse it of thoroughly. I would advise using this product every day as it's very mild on your skin and suitable for everyday use. The actually packaging doesn't mention about how frequently to use. I would just say to your own accord.
--The Fragrance-- It really does smell gorgeous! A really clean fresh smell. It's not at all overpowering or sickly, just very nice indeed!
--Promises-- This product is going to clean your skin with a deep cleansing action. On the tube it states that it 'washes away impurities and make-up without over-drying or stripping your skin of its natural oils'. It contains 'Indian Pennywort' which cleanses the skin and 'chamomile' which calms and sooths the skin. Will remove 'every last layer or dirt, grime and make-up'. A product which seems to do everything! Moisturises, cleanses, calms, soothes and cleans. For annaanswer - Pennywort is a herb which is good for helping to thin the blood, boosting brain power, lowering blood sugar levels, skin disorders, anti-ageing, leprosy, skin cancers, circulation, strengthening veins, fighting varicose veins and rheumatoid arthritis.
--My Opinion/After-- Personally, I wouldn't use this to remove my make-up with. I find if I’m wearing make-up and try to wash it off, it all just runs in my eyes and stings! I also wear waterproof mascara, so it wouldn't do the trick. I just use this to wash my face with whenever I get round to doing it, (usually in the shower) as I normally just use toners and cleansers. I only needed a tiny amount of this deep clean foam for my whole face - a little went a long way. It rinsed off easy; it didn't take any amount of rubbing to remove the product from my face. Afterwards my face felt really soft. It moisturised it like it said. My skin felt and looked clean. It also didn't strip my skin of its natural oils, just like it said it wouldn't! Products that are too harsh on my skin absorb all oil possible therefore my skin needs to produce even more which just brings me out in more spots.
--Value for Money? -- Yes, definitely good value. The full size tube is 150ml and cost £3.99. The tube I got in the weekend set was a 50ml tube and has lasted me a couple of months when I use it around twice a week. So I'm guessing the 150ml tube would last around 6 months. But if you use it everyday, obviously it won't. It did everything it said it would and I love products that do what I was hoping them to do! I think this would be suitable for all skin types, as it's very mild. It would calm sensitive or spot prone skin with the chamomile but moisturise dry to normal skin.
Advantages: leaves skin soft Disadvantages: the pump keeps sticking!
...spent on one of the Boots ranges. A few months ago I got one of the aforementioned vouchers for the Boots Botanics range, so I decided to treat myself to their face wash mousse. This was the first Botanics product I had used, and also the first cleansing mousse, as I usually use either a plain face wash or a cream cleanser, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect.
WHAT THEY CLAIM
If the label is anything to go by, then this mousse should 'deeply ... ...up, or it just will not press down at all - I resorted to hitting it against a wall. OTHER INFO

Advantages: No Dryness to the face Disadvantages: Stings your eyes alot if you accidentally get some in them.
...as I had popped into Boots for some nappies and noticed they had a promotion on. If you had spent so much they gave you a £5 voucher to spend on certain Botanics and Olay products.
As I had not tried any of the Botanics range before I asked the assistant for some advice. She told me that she used this particular product and would recommend it to anyone. At first I thought she would just say that to get a sale but it wasn't really a sale I was using ... ...150ml tube in my local Boots store, however they are also running a 3 for 2 deal on certain products in the Botanics range. I just bought some more of it and some of the other products to put together a goody bag for my friends birthday. She too has children and doesn't get to treat or pamper herself. So I also got her the Botanics pamper kit which has small bottles and packets from the range at a price of £6.50.
You should be careful when using ...

Advantages: non drying Disadvantages: tend to use a bit too much!!!!
Botanics wash off cleanser is an oil based cleanser which you apply to your face to cleanse off everyday dirt, grime and make up. Being a wash off cleanser it cleanses really well, and usually cleanses my first straight away, so that by the time i then use the toner there is hardly any dirt on the cotton wool! Its a really good product for sensitive skin, my face dosn't go all red like it does with some cleansers, being oil based its dosn't dry your ...

Advantages: Makes you feel gorgeous, fresh and clean Disadvantages: Could it be.....none?
Personally I've never used a cleanser before. I always had pretty good skin, even in puberty, and didn't really want to tempt fate by messing with nature. Water was good enough for me.
Then, last year, I moved to the city and noticed some biiiig changes. The cause of my new spots was pretty clear when I ran a fingernail down my face and it came away encrusted with black. Manky. I decided the time to invest in some cleansing products had arrived.
... ...tried made me smell like a chemical factory. And not a nice one- if I HAD been a chemical factory, the locals would have been picketing to close me down. My boyfriend didn't seem as keen to snuggle up to me at night as he usually did and one radioactive-looking cleanser after another was pushed, half used, to the back of the shelf.
That's when I discovered Botanics face wash! (Sorry to sound like a bad 50s advert, but it had to be said.) I knew ...

Advantages: Smells very fresh, brightens your skin Disadvantages: None that i know of
I normally don't like to use alot of products on my skin as i dont have any problems but the botanics range caught my eye and i thought i might try it, especially as i'm not getting any younger and should maybe look after my skin a little bit better.
So i paid £3.99 for it and let me tell you, it was well worth it.
You only need a tiny drop and it foams up well and leaves your skin feeling really fresh and i think it brightens your skin too. Its ...

Advantages: foams well, leaves skin soft n smooth Disadvantages: pricey
1 of my fav facewashes-it leaves my skin soft and smooth after use.i love the fresh clean fragrance to it as well as the natural watercress and fennel extracts. it comes in a blue tube and does foam up if used correctly. i use it with the boots exfoliating sponge £1.89 or botanics loofah sponge £2.99, both sponges work great with this facewash.it lasts me ages cuz its a 150ml tube and i use it every now and then, tho its recomended to use daily.normally pricey for a facewash £6.50 but well worth it with the no7 voucher. i have compared it with other brands andi did not react to this one so will stick to it for now.its hypo allergenic so can be trusted for those sensitive skin types. ...
