I hate the way this cold weather leaves my hands; chapped and weather-beaten so yesterday I decided to invest in a decent hand treatment to improve their appearance. I’ve already sorted out my nails with Sally Hansen’s Diamond Strength so I thought I may as well get my hands looking lovely for Christmas too.
I haven’t actually used Botanics products before but have heard a lot about them and know they use plant extracts, so I decided to settle for one of these treatments rather than ordering from Lush (I am trying to limit myself). Plus I work in Boots so would get a 22.5% discount off any of these products.
When I spotted this one I liked the idea of an overnight treatment because if I wear hand cream in the day I fend that most of them become too greasy.
The product is white in colour and comes in a see-through tube with a green Botanics label on the front. The product contains natural essences of lavender and bilberry which help to hydrate and soften the skin overnight as well as nourishing the nails.
The product has three claims; to make hands look and feel fantastic, that the natural essences nurture the skin and nails and that it will care and condition your hands while you sleep. This sounded ideal for me so I decided to purchase some.
I used this last night and I can honestly say I was amazed by the results this morning. The cream was quite thick when I applied it so I knew that the rich formula was bound to improve my hands in some way. It smells of lavender which is lovely and calming before you go to bed. Immediately after application hands feel softer but it also feels a little oily. It is much richer than a daytime formula so apply it when you get into bed and leave it to soak into your skin for a few minutes.
I also noticed that you only need a very small blob of this. I didn’t apply much last night but I think I’ll put on even less tonight because it is such a rich formula that it goes a long way.
This morning I was delighted with the results I noticed as soon as I woke up that my hands were still incredibly soft and this feeling stayed even after I had washed them. The second thing I noticed was that my cuticles were a lot softer. Overall there was a considerable improvement for just one night’s usage. I was very impressed.
This stuff has worked wonders on my hands so I’m going to carry on using it, I should imagine my 100ml tube will last me all winter. It is also supposed to improve nail condition but I already had a nail treatment on so I can’t say whether it did this or not.
The product is only sold at Boots and comes in two different sizes. The 50ml tube is £2.00 and the 100ml tube is £3.20. I also got triple points on my advantage card which is nice.
Overall a top performance. It is also good to know that Boots test none of their products on animals, a definite advantage. The other main advantage of this product is that you simply apply it before going to bed and then drift off to sleep, when you wake up in the morning the cream will have performed it’s magic!
