I'm not too sure about these, though they are just about passable. I'd say that I would expect better quality from Boot's. These pads don't really feel as good as they should be, especially as a product from Boot's and for their price too. The pads cost £1.59 for a pack of 100, which is more expensive than many others like Superdrug, Tesco's or Sainsbury's etc. but not with better quality, so I am a little disappointed. ... more

What do I think? ***************** I'm not too sure about these, though they are just about passable. I'd say that I would expect better quality from Boot's. These pads are truly just 'average' cotton wool pads - the quality being a little harsh for delicate and sensitive skins. Although, the pads are soft, I tend to feel as if there are some faint gritty bits in the pad - not seriously damaging for the skin, but I have used cotton pads with a softer and better feel to this and at a cheaper price too.
There is actually a note on the packaging advising the possibility of natural fibres containing small pieces of seed, husk or stalk due to the manufacturing process in India. Again, I just can't help feeling that Boot's would have provided something better.
Compared with the 'Double Faced Pads' there is no fleecing with these, but the main issue is the quality of cotton in these pads.
Cost? ****** As mentioned already, the pads come in packs of approximately 100 pads for £1.59. This is actually twice the average price of many other brands. However, Boot's offers a promotion of £2.00 for two packs which makes it a little cheaper, but still a little more expensive than its competitors. I'm happy to buy from Boot's at these prices but not to be offered the same or poorer quality goods.
Advantages: Drawstring bag, fine for nail polish removal. Disadvantages: Price, grains in the product, not very soft.
I use cotton wool for a variety of uses and these ones in particular I have used for cleaning my face of make-up and removing nail polish. There are 100 cotton wool pads in this packet for £1.52 and this is a fairly reasonable price when compared to other similar products but it is definitely not the best product I have encountered for this price and it won't be top of my list in future either. The pads are provided in a plastic sleeve with a draw ... ...the top and pull out a couple of pads. They do not come away from each other easily and I have only just realised that these are only a one-sided usage product. The pads feel thin and not very strong, however, I wet one of them and begin cleaning my face. I rinse it out and some shrinkage does occur, however, not a ridiculous amount. While cleaning my face I do feel like there are some grains stuck in the pads and these are not as soft as they could ...
