I received a lot of body butters for Christmas and am attempting to work my way through them all. Currently I am using up a few of the ones I received from the Boots Extracts range. This range uses some fairtrade ingredients and I think it is great that a well known brand such as Boots is beginning to factor fairtrade into its products. A full 200ml tub of this currently retails in Boots for £7.92 which I think is reasonable considering it is fairtrade and the product performs well.
The directions on the tub state that this body butter is best applied after a shower/bath, I use this daily and find a little goes a long way. I take a scoop of the product and dot it over my body, then rub it in. Once I have done this I apply my facial toner/moisturiser and by the time I have done that the body butter has sunk in completly, showing how quickly it absorbs.
The product has a good honey scent, however this is not too overpowering. Once applied to smell does begin to fade so it won't interfere with any perfumes etc you put on. The body butter is an off white colour, the cream looks thick in the tub but once you begin to rub it into the skin it becomes lighter so doesn't require too much effort to get it to absorb.
The body butter contains shea butter as well as honey extracts and I find it is very moisturising. I find that my skin feels noticably smoother after applying and that this lasts throughout the day. Although I do usually apply this daily, I find that if I skip a day my skin still remains soft, so the results are longer lasting then twenty four hours!
The packaging is good, like the other body butters in the range it comes in a plastic circular tub with a screw top lid. The plastic is sturdy so this product can take a bit of a bash and if droppedit is not likely to spill.
Overall I give this a 5/5 because it applys well, smells great and moisturises effectively, plus it is fairtrade.
