Boots Foam Earplugs

Boots the chemists have saved my bacon! For months I have been making good use of some free foam earplugs (courtesy of an airline). As the saying goes all good things must come to an end and my supply of free foam earplugs had been used, reused, washed, worn and were past their best. Being a savvy shopper (or so I like to think) I kept looking for some replacement foam earplugs in the discount stores but they were nowhere to be found. I have had some problems with my ears in the past six months or so. I have had a burst eardrum and several ear infections. Because of these problems I have come to really respect my ears and have taken to using earplugs on any occasion when I may be surrounded by very loud noise or when I may be getting my ears wet. Because the bulk of my problems have been in one ear I have been very careful to use foam earplugs so that I can mark them and ensure that I do not mix my earplugs up if I am going to be re-using them. I bought these foam ear plugs for two reasons, one for travel and one for my mornings when I get to have a lie in. When I travel on an airplane I really don't like that whiring noise that you get, I'm not the best air traveler anyway even though I do it quite a bit, and always feel a bit uncomfortable so if I can block out noise and sort of retreat into myself that makes me feel a bit better. I purchased these earplugs with high hopes, dear god I was wrong. The first night they worked, I guess it was a once in a blue moon thing. The nights that followed, I found my hands to be sore even attempting to put these in after 20 times, it seems that you must be in the Usain Bolt family generation to put these earplugs in your ear exactly half a millisecond after you stop applying pressure because they expand immediately. If however you think you do not apply enough pressure and you decide to apply more, they fall apart in your hands. I know where I'll be using my money next time, and ... more
