...found a 100ml bottle of Boots Fresh! Best Before Bedtime Bath Milk and thought that it would be the sort of product to moisturise the water without bubbling – yes, I know now!!
Anyway the bath milk is one of the miniatures in the Boots Fresh range, a great idea for us all to try them out before deciding which ones to buy.
It comes in an opaque plastic bottle with a screw top. As the liquid is lavender in colour the bottle ... ...is simple, just showing the Boots logo, the range from which the product comes and the name of the product.
It purports to ‘soothe and soften the body with milk and malt extracts’ and it also carries the warning ‘delectable but not drinkable’. This is reinforced on the back of the label where there is a clear message to ‘keep out of reach of children’.
So I unscrewed the lid of the bottle and sniffed. The lavender colour ... more
Well have you missed me? I haven’t been around for a while as I’ve been busy with both the Ebay shop and with work around the house, mainly chasing plumbers to fit our new bathroom correctly! Which leads me nicely into the opinion……
Our new house came with a car park at the rear as it used to be used as a guest house, but we had it fenced off and made it into a courtyard with plants pots, but dad still misses his garden from where he used to live, so Dave and I have spent the last two weekends building two raised flower beds using old railway sleepers and natural rocks. If I say so myself we have made a damn good job of it too!
And so it was that I was both very dirty and aching by teatime today, and although the seal to the wall isn’t actually fixed properly I decided that if I was careful I could try out our new whirlpool bath.
Off I went to my cupboard to find something that didn’t bubble, having had problems at a hotel once when we put bubble bath in the Jacuzzi – yes, I know now!!

It comes in an opaque plastic bottle with a screw top. As the liquid is lavender in colour the bottle has a lavender hue to it and has a label to match. The labelling is simple, just showing the Boots logo, the range from which the product comes and the name of the product.

So I unscrewed the lid of the bottle and sniffed. The lavender colour belied the smell I’m afraid, it is very malty and I have to say I wasn’t too keen on it. I poured about half the contents of the bottle into my bath under the running tap and immediately it began to produce bubbles! Bother! I hadn’t expected that! Never mind there weren’t many bubbles so maybe it would be OK. The smell also diminished considerably as the liquid disappeared into the bath water.
So, in I got, lay down as best as I could in corner bath, and switched on the jets. The water felt soft, very pleasant to my aching limbs and luckily for me there weren’t too many bubbles. Although to be fair had I been expecting a bubble bath I would have been very disappointed.
So does it do what it says on the bottle? Well, yes it does to a great extent. My skin does feel very soft and smooth and I can’t smell the malty fragrance on myself, thank heavens!
Since this was a present I went onto the Wellbeing site to find the price and it currently costs £4 for a bottle containing 250ml of the product. Having said that, this is one that I won’t be buying. I’d rather have something with a lovely fragrance that lingers in the air and on the skin.
As for ‘best before bedtime’ well I do feel tired but then I felt tired anyway and a soak in the bath always makes me feel like crawling into a nice warm bed, so whether the bath milk made a difference to my level of sleepiness I really couldn’t say.
Advantages: Very smooth skin, lots of bubbles Disadvantages: Smell very over powering from the jar.
...if your buying from boots anyway you could try it that way.
The packaging does offer a warning "delectable but not drinkable!" which i think was directed to my partner, if only for the fact he thought it smelt of baileys irish cream which he loves.
I would definately recommend trying this. Your either going to love it or hate it. But dont be put off by the initial smell from the jar, or be tempted to use to much.

...across my 100ml bottle of Boots Fresh! Best Before Bedtime Bath Milk. It was like a sign… or at least I took it as one and went to bed straight afterwards, completely knackered from my jog.
The bottle was only a little one from the miniatures section in the Boots Fresh range, which I had bought because I didn’t want to spend loads of money if I wasn’t going to like it.

It claims to ‘soothe and soften the body with milk and malt extracts’ , which sounded to me rather nice and my body certainly needed soothing after all that exercise, which I will certainly be reducing now, having woken up the next day with all my muscles aching… ouch!
When you unscrewed the lid of the bottle, the scent ...

Advantages: Nice packaging Disadvantages: The smell was too much for me
I was given a gift box of Boot's Fresh products at Christmas. I thought this bath soak sounded ideal for me because I love having a bath just before bed. It costs £4 for 250 ml, but the bottle I got was only a little 100ml one, which was enough for 4 baths. The first thing that hits you is the smell, it is incredibly malty. I thought it was far too strong. If you have ever walked past a brewery you'll know the smell, some people like it, I don't. ... ...it but I love my bubbles!
The bottle looks nice, it's clear with a silver lid and the liquid inside is a pale pink colour and when you pour it out it looks creamy and luxurious. It moisturised quite well, leaving my skin soft and thankfully I only smelt a little bit malty afterwards. If you are thinking about buying it, please make sure you smell it first! ...
