For anyone who wants to keep their whites white without using bleach I would strongly recommend Nappy Cleanse, available from Boots and other brand names such as Napisan.

It costs around £1.50 for a box that lasts ages. You put a tablespoon or so into your white wash, please check the individual manufacturers instructions, with the powder and hay presto amazing whites.
