Another nail varnish in my sudden shopping spree for my nails and a different brand this time! The one I will now review is from the 'Natural collection' range from Boots and the shade is called i'm reviewing is called 'Cosmic Rush'
The varnish: The varnish is a shade of deep purple with a very slight glittery shimmer to it. The varnish claims to be fragrance free which I can't understand as I can certainly smell it when I open up the bottle! It doesn't claim to be quick drying or glossy and so all the varnishes in this collection are the same and are mainly chosen for the colour and no other qualities.
The bottle: The bottle is slightly smaller than some of the other varnishes I have bought recently at just 8ml. It has a glass bottle bit that you can see the varnish through and the lid is a white screw top. The label tells us it is a natural collection varnish with the white flower logo that all the natural collection products have. There is a warning on the bottle that tells us it is flammable.
The shade: The shade is a deep purple colour. The colour has a slight shimmer to it and looks nice once on. The shade definitely needs two coats to look its best as just the one appears quite streaky even if you do a thick coat. This is a nice colour for an evening out if you want to go for a more understated look as it doesn't immediately catch the eye.
Price: The varnish is only available from Boots in store at a price of £1.79 although they do offer a 3 for £5 which only works out you save 37p but any saving is better than none at all!
Overall opinion: I think this nail varnish is ok for the price as it does its job but you cannot get away with just one layer as it's quite a thin consistency. The shade is nice and the shimmer adds that little extra to it so for the price it is a nice one to experiment with. The two layers look nice as the colour is then nice and deep so overall a good nail varnish without spending a fortune!
