I was given a Body Shop Vanilla Musk spray as a birthday present years ago, but when the product ran out and I looked in store for a new one I found the price was £5 for 50ml, which is really quite expensive for a body spray! The one in Boots in 150ml (5 US Fl. Oz.) and is 1.99, plus, if you hand your Boots advantage card over you will get 8 points – the equivalent of 8p back as you receive 4 points for every pound, not much, but remember that it does all add up! Boots do however, have a fair few triple points weekends throughout the year, so it’s great to stock up at these opportunities for all items!
My friends having been buying this body spray for years, and I’ve always loved the smell, but unfortunately for me, every time I had the opportunity, Boots were always out of stock, and seeing as it is a Natural Collection product, Boots is the only store you can get it from. One of my best friends works in Boots and has told me that it is one of their most sought after items, and always sells out very quickly!
Anyway! When I did manage to find one I was very pleased. The bottle is clear, including the lid, and has a picture on the front, covering about half of the bottle. It is an image of a man holding a large flower shaped kite (yes, I don’t understand what relevance this has either!)
The back of the bottle reads, ‘Spray lightly over body to refresh skin. Avoid contact with face, eyes and broken or irritated skin. Avoid contact with polished, painted and plastic surfaces.’
As I mentioned before, many of my friends use this product religiously. I usually use perfume myself, my favourite being ‘Lovely’ by Sarah Jessica Parker (for any of those who are interested!) Something I have mixed feelings about is the strength of the smell of the white musk spray. If I’m in a room, I will know instantly when it has been sprayed and by exactly who! Although people wear a perfume or body spray, I cant say I always notice the scent, even when I might hug them! But with this, I can smell it even when I’m not stood next to them, and even after it was sprayed several hours ago. I’m still haven’t made my mind up yet with whether this is a good or bad thing! I suppose it is good that it lasts a long time, as it can be very frustrating having to constantly re-spray the scent, this means the bottle will also last longer. My mum however, absolutely detests the smell, and if I’ve sprayed it, she always seems to know about it! Usually turning her nose up and making some sort of displeased comment!
Although I do like the smell and product, I tend to mainly use it now as a room fragrance!! This is mainly because I prefer my regular perfume. But I would have to say it is great value for money when you can find one, and is very popular, especially with the younger generation! I would recommend trying it, and if you don’t like it, you haven’t really lost anything!
