I am a fan of most of the Boots No 7 range and think it is every bit as good as many more expensive brands I have tried. You may remember earlier in the year all the hype about Boots no 7 protect and perfect beauty serum following a horizon programme that proclaims this was one anti-aging product that actually worked. Well on the back of this success Boots have recently launched a protect and perfect foundation. Boots claim that this is no ordinary foundation, as it will actually help to improve the appearance of your skin even when you remove it! With claims like these I couldn't wait to try it for myself.
The foundation. ************* The foundation comes in a fairly plain looking glass bottle. It has a pull off black lid that I find very difficult to get off! The bottle has a pump dispenser and that thankfully is easy to use. It is not too expensive at £15 for a 30 ml bottle.
The foundation comes in 7 different skin shades so you should find the perfect one for you. A word of advice here, I asked for a few samples to try before buying, as I wanted to be sure I bought the right shade. My local Boots were happy to give me several different shades in little pots to take home. I'm really glad I did this as I found some of the darker shades had an unpleasant orange tinge! I eventually choose the almond shade.

My thoughts. ********************* Until recently I have been using Boots no 7 intelligent foundation and was very happy with it. However I couldn't wait to try this new product. So did it live up to the claims made? In a word, yes! The foundation feels very silky and glides on well. Boots say you can use either your fingers or a sponge to apply. I use my fingers .You don't need much to give a good covering. I find some foundations feel heavy on my skin but this one is very light and produces a medium coverage. It really does give my skin a healthy glow. I apply the foundation in the morning and find it lasts all day.
Boots claim that using this foundation will help improve the condition of your skin. I can't say I have noticed any difference but I have only been using it for a few weeks.
Overall I highly recommend this foundation, but suggest you try before you buy!
Advantages: Very moisturising Disadvantages: price, colour and lack of coverage
After reading all of the hype about the other protect and perfect products I thought I would give this a try. The main problem with this foundation for me was the colour, I did try it on my hand in the shop instead of on my face but I can generally get some idea of the colour from this unfortunately when I put it on my skin it was a horrible orangey brown colour that just made my skin look dirty. The colour I went for was 'Cream' which was the palest ... ...more colours are available, there seemed to be a fairly small selection. The colour looked pretty good on my hand but was like bad fake tan when applied to my skin. The product claims 'smoothes and moisturises for younger looking skin and a flawless complexion. I did find the texture to be nice and smooth and it did feel moisturising, however I didn't find that it covered very well and it certainly didn't give me younger looking skin. I thought the ...

Advantages: Easy to apply Disadvantages: Porcelain colour made my face look jaundiced
I have quite pale mature skin. I find it can be quite difficult to get a decent foundation that cares for my skin, blends easily and looks and feels good on the skin without being too heavy or caked looking.
I haven't tried the Protect and Perfect lotion product yet, so I thought I'd try the new foundation instead. I was lucky enough have some of this foundation given to me as a Xmas gift. (I chose the colour, porcelain)
Once I started to apply ... ...had a slight jaundice. I had to rub most of it off and apply my usual foundation over the top to hide it. I didn't like the yellow tone on my skin.
On the plus side I liked the consistency of it and it seemed to blend into my skin well. Left a nice soft dewy finish and the bottle would last well. On the whole not a good experience with this foundation. I think I'd rather have the Protect and Perfect lotion instead. ...
