Advantages Quite effective. Looks pretty

Disadvantages leaves a greasy film on the face

I confess!

The only reason I bought Boots Dual-Action Make-up remover was because it looked so pretty on the stand!

I didn't actually need a new make-up remover, but when I saw the lovely two-tone light blue liquid in the stylish container, I knew I had to buy some to test it out. (Blue is my favourite colour!).

Dual-Action is packaged in a rectangular bottle with the usual No 7 logo written on in gold. Inside the bottle the make-up remover is split into two liquids, a clear pale blue liquid at the top and a darker blue liquid at the bottom. The idea is to shake the bottle to mix the two layers before applying.

The product contains cornflower and watermelon extracts to cleanse and soothe and vitamin pro-B5 to maintain healthy, hydrated skin. It is hypo-allergenic and fragrance free and specificallly states that it will remove all types of eye make-up, including waterproof mascara.

Dual action
I shook the bottle to merge the two liquids and then squirted some of the make-up remover onto a cotton pad. The remover comes out of a small hole and so it is very easy to control the amount you use. The product removed my eye make-up with no problem at all although I did have to rub quite a bit to remove my waterproof mascara. I was surprised at this as the bottle specifically stated that it would remove waterproof mascara, and as we all know rubbing the eye area is not a good idea.

My skin did feel very greasy after using this product which wasn't very pleasant. Although once the greasiness had gone my skin did feel quite conditioned.

Dual-Action costs £5.50 for 150 ml, which I think is good value for money as it does last a long time.

This was quite an effective make-up remover although I am yet to find something that removes waterproof mascara easily (despite the claims on the bottle). The greasiness it leaves on the skin is unpleasant and it does take a while for this to sink in.

Finally, despite the attractive two layer appearance of the product in the bottle (which did draw me to buy the product in the first instance). I found the repeated shaking of the bottle to mix the liquids to be a bit of a pain as I had to reshake after each eye. This may be a small point but it did add to the time needed to use the product.

I'll keep to my Nivea lotion I think, I wouldn't appreciate the greasiness of this. I know what you mean about the hassle of removing the waterproof mascara though. Mandy.XX
