    Advantages Advantages Good service and reasonably quick delivery of glasses

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Can indulge in hard sell if you only want a prescription

    Up until a few years ago I didn’t bother much with opticians. I didn’t get my eyes tested for years and every time I did I was told I had 20:20 vision - even when I got them tested just before I turned 40. All this changed in 2008 when I realised I couldn’t see road signs as clearly as I had in the past when I was driving. So it was no surprise to learn I needed glasses although then I was told I needed them mainly for driving.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite a long wait for the glasses to be ready and had to chase it up.

    It must have been between three and five years since I had last been to an Opticians. My glasses were loose and apparently couldn’t be tightened anymore, so I decided it was probably time for a new eye test and some new glasses! So I went into Boots and asked for an appointment for an eye test. They didn’t have one for that day, but I booked one for a convenient day, she took down my details to put on the computer and I returned for the appointment.     Ever since the age of 10 I've had to visit an optician. Until the age of 20 I wore glasses only and visited a small independent optician. Once I moved away to university, I decided on getting contact lenses and due to Boots good reputation in eye care became registered at Boots Opticians. There are many Boots Opticians around the country varying in size from large, spacious premises based in cities to smaller locations in towns and suburbs.     I have been wearing glasses for about 15 years now and was originally a customer with Specsavers but about 4 years ago I changed to Boots because I felt that anytime I went in there, I was being rushed out of Specsavers, as they were just too busy. I am writing about my experience of my local Boots Optician in High Street, Falkirk.     I think most potential purchasers of glasses and contact lenses are now aware of the inclusion of the Boots Opticians practices within major Boots stores. My only experience is with the store in Coventry, and may not be indicative of stores elsewhere. I should also add that I wear glasses only and the following opinion is based upon that fact. A considerable number of newspaper, magazine, and TV adverts try to put across the message that Boots Opticians can offer a professional service with a wide choice of products, and still be competitive on price with other major chains of opticians ... more

    I recently bought varifocals from boots but i have Parkinsons disease and just cannot get on with them

    if i return them, do i have any rights for a full/partial refund?
