I Won't Be Walking Away From Boots Photo Processing
Advantages Great quality, wonderful staff, low price
Disadvantages Long queuing time during busy times
I have been using Boots - Photo Processing for many years. Today, I went in, in my wheelchair to get some digital photos developed. I noticed that it was difficult to move around to get to the machines. The space was particularly tight, but the staff were very helpful and accommodating.
I have tried other Photo Processing places, but I have to say that Boots is my favourite for reliability and time. If you want good photos then you should stick with Boots. When a person thinks about Boots they usually think of chemist, beauty, perfume, soap and then as a last resort, photos. Perhaps you have tried many photo shops already without much success? Some places can be a bit hit and miss. You might be pleased with the way your photos came out one week and the next they were disastrous. However, one word that I think of when I think of Boots, is reliability. That is one of the words I would use to describe Boots. Then I would go on to say consistency, friendly, kind, affordable and quality. You get the picture?Boots is definitely a place that I would recommend time and time again. In fact, I know of professional photographers that use Boots because they consider it one of the best stores around. If professional photographers use Boots Processing then it says something about the quality.
Today, you walk into Boots and are surrounded by cutting edge technology. Now, technology isn't something for everyone. I can vouch for that! To tell you the truth, I can't get my head round it. Some things I am very good at, whilst other things I cannot work out. Like the way I cannot do exercise using the Wii. That's not because I'm lazy though! I prefer to do exercise using a DVD or go swimming instead. Or the way I keep losing my mobile phones. The amount of mobile phones I have gone through is just daft! And that's another story. I'm getting side tracked. As for Boots and technology it may not be something that you'd immediately put together in one sentence. However, if you walk into the main Boots stores today you will find many machines that are sophisticated in technology. They have many machines that use Fuji digital equipment. Boots have moved on a lot in recent years and are far from being just a chemist.
I was amazed when I went into the store today with a card from my digital camera and the member of staff told me that my photos would be ready in seconds. I must say, that the staff are very helpful. I asked if she would help me because I wasn't very good with technology. She went above and beyond my expectations, because she actually did everything for me and then took the payment from me. It was great that she took the payment from me because it meant that I didn't have to queue in the long line of people. I was very happy with the quality of the photos. I paid just 35p for 9 passport sized photos. It would have cost twelve pounds in a photo booth. The quality was probably not as good as ordinary photos are, but then I cannot complain for 35p and nearly instant timing. When you get your film developed, processing is important. When you get your film developed you should notice a difference in the light and dark areas of the prints. Boots - Photo Processing can correct errors that you have made in exposure. Prints are much clearer and crisper.
There are less expensive film processing companies, but you should not take a chance if the films are very important. By choosing Boots - Photo Processing you will be satisfied with your prints. Ordinary photos can be ready within an hour at Boots - Photo Processing if you are willing to pay a little extra. However, if you can wait then they will be ready the next day for a lower cost.I've heard some mixed opinions about Boots - Photo Processing and this is only my opinion. So if you read some other reviews that suggest Boots are not as good as I have made out, remember this is just my experience. I think that it depends on the Boots branch that you are using. If you go into Boots and they are very busy, then you might find it frustrating having to queue. When I went in today, there was a large queue and it tends to build up quickly. Due to the size of the department in Blackpool, it is difficult to manage the queue quickly. The department is only small, which is why I mentioned about it being difficult to manoeuvre a wheelchair. However, the staff are extremely friendly. They made it a lot easier for me because the lady took my money which meant that I didn't have to queue. However, I felt sorry for the people who did have to wait.
Boots - Photo Processing also sell photo gifts. Greeting CardsBoots have self service machines for digital photos which offer instant, 1 hour or 24 hour printing. I used the self service machines with the help of the staff member. Would you call that self service then?
My husband had taken the memory card from the digital camera and it went straight into the machine. The self service decreases the time you spend queuing because staff can get on with other things. Apart from when they have someone with little technology skills, like moi! The machines are probably easy to use, but I am too afraid to try anything like that, in case I break it. I also liked the fact, that the member of staff taught me something new. She explained how I could use the memory card to choose pictures from pre-recorded films. When the film was loading onto the system it took a few seconds if that! Then it asks what size and service you require. It then prints a receipt which you take to the till and pay. If you have to collect prints at a later time, then you take the receipt in when you collect the photos. The reciept tells you when you can collect the photos. The staff are happy to answer any questions or explain anything. Payment is made when you give them the receipt. It is actually cheaper getting photos developed in store than it is at home. I cannot recall having any problems with Boots and I've been using them for years. I definitely won't be walking away from Boots.

And I remember when I thought 1 hour processing was nothing short of miraculous! ;)
