I first bought this product about 4 years ago after suffering with skin prone to acne since my teens. I initially bought it after a massive outbreak of spots when I had given up on all my other products which didn't seem to be doing much for my skin apart from making it worse.
I already used tea tree cleansing wipes, so I new about the antibacterial and healing properties of tea tree for skin. I bought this at boots for £2.99 which seemed fairly reasonable as it would last a few months and £2.99 isn't much money to lose if it turned out not to be very good!
I got home and removed my make-up, cleaned my face and dried it thoroughly before applying a thin coat of the gel to my face. It was very cold and quite refreshing! I waited 15 minutes for it to dry (it says wait between 10-15 minutes) before peeling it off. My face felt tight, and smooth and a lot less greasy than it usually fells, I was quite impressed.
You are only meant to use it occassionaly but as my skin was so bad I used it for about four days in a row and it seemed to make my spots go quicker than they usually would, as well as making my skin look healthier and giving it more of a glow! (I however would not recommend you go against the recommended use on the back of the package in case of long term damage to your skin-i.e. more wrinkles!)
I was especially happy about this product as it seems to be made for greasy skin so leaves skin dryer, unlike so clay or other masks. Also you don't have the hassle of washing annoying bits of wet mask off of your face as it peels off so easily!
It came in incredibly handy when my sister got married as I was chief bridesmaid and had a horrible outbreak a week before the wedding, but managed to get rid of all my spots in time for her big day!
It also feels like your treating yourself when you use it as it is relaxing and you can just take 15 minutes out to chill out and read a magazine or watch t.v. while you use it. I wouldn't recommend using it in the bath as the steam doesn't let it dry properly and so you don't get the full benefit. It is an incredibly cheap treat as even if you use it often it still lasts you a few months!
Even if you have a clear skin period I would still use it occassionally to prevent spots as well as cure. I would say it is good for moderately trouble skin but for severe acne it is best to go to the doctor for a solution. While it is not a miracle cure it is close, I would recommend it highly!
it claims to : "grab dirt and lift it out of your pores" "help remove blackheads" "helps tighten pores and prevent future breakouts"
