A couple of weeks into December last year I had a massive breakout of spots on my face. This is something quite rare for me but does happen from time to time when I am run down, stressed or have been burning the candle at both ends. I think the combination of the three contributed to my flare up.

I went in search of a remedy but also something that would help prevent this in future. I discovered the Tea Tree and Witch Hazel range at Boots. The first thing I purchased from the range was the spot wand and the foaming facial wash. I went back to Boots teh very next day and gt a few other items from the range asthey were on special offer and I thought I might as well go the whole hog.

*Where From and How Much?*
The Foaming Face Wash cost individually £3.42. I bought mine on a combination offer of two items for £5.00. It is available at Boots stores or on line at www.boots.com.

*Packaging*
A plastic bottle contains 150ml of the wash. The wash is dispensed from the pump action nozzle. This nozzle is also protected by an easy pop off cap to prevent further germs and nasties settled on the nozzle. The packaging is non recyclable curently, however does carry the Green Dot symbol, indicating that Boots is a member of the Germany Packaging Ordinance. The liquid is a pale mint green in colour.
  • Product Claims*
To deeply cleanse and refresh. Help keep skin clear and healthy.
  • *This foaming facial wash deep cleanses your skin of dirt, oil and make-up without over-drying. The Tea Tree formula helps fight spot causing bacteria and unblocks pores. Whilst the Witch Hazel tones your skin leaving it feeling extra clean.** - Taken from Boots.com 14/1/10.

*Using This Product*
I always store mine with the protective cap in place, so I simply remove that and then give two pumps of the wash into the palm of my hand. I apply this light foam to my wet face in circular motions, ensuring I get in behind my ears and cover my neck. The white foam further lathers on my face. This is easily washed off, I simply splash my wash with warm water and pad my face with a face cloth to remove all residue.

*What do I Think?*
This product smells strongly astringent. Although it contains only 0.1% tea tree and 10% witch hazel is smells mostly of tea tree to me, with the witch hazel certainly noticeable but taking more of a back seat. It smells like it is going to clean!!

I enjoy using this product as I find it so easy and simple to use. With the toning properties of this there is really no need to use a seperate toning product (although I still do so) therefore cutting down time and cost in your beauty and skin care regime.

I found that using a combination of the Tea Tree and Witch Hazel products my skin outbreak has cleared up clearly and really well and has continued to remain spot free. Although I now have a cold sore (must be really stressed - this is so very rare for me) so still in hiding and walking around with my scarf over my mouth.

Overall I am really impressed with this product, its easiness to use and its results. Yes, there are better smelling facial products available, but I do feel really clean.

This bottle is lasting ages, barely touching the contents. I estimate 4-5 months usage from one bottle, using it twice daily.

I would recommend this product for problematic skin. Review also on Dooyoo under the username Lisajo
