When it comes to removing grease, grime and gunk off my face I'm ever so fussy if not slightly neurotic about it! I own so many bottles of cleansers, toners and make up removing cloths I shock myself to be honest! I only use good stuff on my combination skin because if I don't I get spots like you wouldn't believe it so it's worth me invested in things I think.
I love Boots and I love most of Boots own ranges of things that they sell in store. I love Boots No 7 make up. I adore Time Delay products and alot of Botanics stuff I like too and the only range I'm now boycotting is their so called 'Expert' range! I'm yet to try something I can rave about and from the reviews I've read on here they don't convince me my opinion is wrong either. It's just a dreadful offering in my opinion.
However Boots Time Delay is a firm favourite of mine. They tend to be well packaged products, smell and look nice and not only are they usually very well priced with a huge range of products to choose from but they work for me. The fact I believe they work of course is the biggest selling point!
Now I have used (and wrote a review on) Time Delay Deep Cleansing Wipes a while back. I loved them and have repurchased them time and time again although I'm not faithful to anything for long though no matter how good it may be and I have used a few different things in make up removal since then (read all the reviews) lol.
However the other day in Boots I decided to get
some cleansing wipes as I had run out. Now I don't use wipes often as they are not my favourite way of making sure my face is nice and clean. I use them mainly for quickness and in all honesty mainly when I'm drunk! This is owing to the fact that one night a few years ago I came in and was totally ratted. I always know to remove my make up so I did the best I could with cleanser and toner. The following day I woke up with no eyebrows and a totally smooth face although it was bright red. I had used Immac. No lie I had and I was really lucky to have not burnt my face off so when I know I'm going out drinking all that sort of thing gets gone out out of harms way and wipes are on standby! You certainly live and learn don't you?! lol.
So I find them great for wiping over my face first thing in the morning or when I'm straight out of the bath or shower when my face feels tight after it's been splattered in water. I find them nice for refreshing and gently cleansing at night but not really for removing the ten ton of make up I choose to wear and for that I revert back to cleansers and toners (apart from when I'm roaring drunk of course lol). However the Time Delay cleansing clothes I referred to earlier were amazing at removing make up, grease and grime and I used them every day and was happy at their cleaning abilities so these I thought had to be worth a go as they're from the same range.
The Packaging....
Greeny/blue recyclable plastic packaging. On the front and in the middle of the packet there's a hard white plastic square and it flips open and that's where you pull the wipes out of. On that in a green coloured writing I'm told they are Boots, Time Delay 'Daily Skin Health' Hydrating Cleansing Wipes. Then there is like a tiny round scribbled on pattern on there and under that in capital letters I'm told 'Skin looks younger day by day'. On one side of the packet I'm told that they are Hydrating Cleansing Wipes that 'Cleanses, tones and hydrates, leaving skin brighter and more radiant'. Then I'm told that the packet contains 30 wipes. On the other side of the packet I'm told directions for use and what to do if the product gets in your eyes..scream..no I'm joking lol...just rinse eyes with clean water! On the back I'm told a bit about the product, ingredients are listed, the recycle symbol is displayed, contact details for Boots are given (the manufacturer) and finally there is bar-code. The packaging is nice, no nonsense and is practical making these a nice looking purchase for a woman of any age.
About The Product....According To The Packet...
These single-use lotion based cleansing wipes gently sweep away make-up, impurities and oiliness to reveal refreshed and replenished skin.
Blended with powerful antioxidants, containing Ginseng and Vitamin C to protect against the visible signs of ageing. They cleanse, tone and moisturise leaving skin feeling instantly brighter and more radiant. Terminologically proven to be kind to the skin.
Directions For Use....
Use morning and evening. Gently smooth over face and neck, keeping eyes cosed. Reseal the pack immediately after removing each cloth. For added benefit use any Time Delay moisturiser. Natural extract may result in colour variation in the wipes. Do not flush.
My Experience....
Well the wipe itself is rather large. Don't ask me sizes though I am a girl but take it from me they a good size! lol They are white in colour and made up of a cloth like material rather than a paper. You can see the fibres and it isn't that thick but it is robust and stretches rather than tears. You need muscles to tear these I'm telling you! So they don't shred or shed!
So they do pull out of the packet one by one. Now whether your simply refreshing and cleaning a 'naked' face or one covered in make up it's all the same method. You wipe the face with them! The smell is superb. They smell infused with soft, sweet fruits. Expensive and not cheap and/or tacky. The smell isn't overpowering and I do find that with stuff that smells you can sometimes taste them or it's so strong it make eyes water and face tingle. These do none of that. They simply are a little bit moist but not overly so and they gently work to remove grease/grime and make up. No hard rubbing is required and simple sweeps are enough and on harder to budge make up you do need to gently sweep over that a few times to remove it but they do as the wipes feel a little bit greasy as I assume the lotion (make up remover these contain) is made up of fruit oils etc. Though don't get me wrong they aren't as greasy as hell but they do glide over the face easy enough.
I find one wipe per face and neck is enough to remove even the thickest of Amy Winehouse make up and not only does skin feel deep down clean, really looks fresh and as promised radiant my skin also feels ever so soft and natural and has a really nice smell to it.
Overall....
I'd recommend these even for the naughtiest of skins. I haven't had any extra spots or dry skin or anything they simply do as advertised and that's it! The product drys into the skin once the grease/grime make up has been removed on to the cloth and your left with no greasy residue and your ready to moisturise.
I'm a huge fan of these. They do clean the face. They do hydrate dry skin in a none oily way and they don't create waves! Brilliant yet again Boots!
