This is so much fun. Bop it Extreme 2 is a toy which can easily mistaken for a steering wheel because that’s what I thought when I first saw it. However while we shouldn’t mistake it for a steering wheel, at closer inspection is has four controls on the ends of it and a large one in the middle. Have I confused you further, I think I’m confusing myself here. The controls on it (in reference to the picture) the yellow one is Twist It found in the top left of the picture, which has to be twisted. The green on is Flick It top right of the picture need to be flicked on the given instruction, the blue Pull It should be pulled on given instruction bottom left of the picture, the orange Spin It should be spun bottom right of the picture and last but not least the centre button is the Bop It and should be bopped upon instruction. Well once you’ve assured that you know where everything is you can begin the game, test yourself. This is where the fun starts. Once begin a string of instructions are given, among which you will hear a beat.
Now as easy as this game may sound, its not so. It takes getting use to, and requires a quick reaction and even better co-ordination. I will warn you now before you rush out to buy it, its addictive so unless you have too much time on your hand, don’t touch it. Once an incorrect move is made the game is over, otherwise it has a number of levels to complete. The levels increase the speed.
As much as this sounds like a one person game, is can actually be played with a number of people. How! Well let me explain. The instructions require a set time in which the person must react. Picture this. Once you have completed your turn, once the instruction is given to pass it you must do that pass it to the next, once they have made their move or moves they must pass it to another person and so on. Sounds great, the kids (all over 20 years of age) in my house defiantly thought so. In other words its not just for the kids.
Settings allow you to keep score, and use different beats, all of which are very easy to set-up. If your interested in buying one you’ll find it in many of the toy stores, for about £23, excluding the AAA batteries which you need three of which will last you about eight if used for about two or three hours a day. The game is compact and easy to store, durable and very stable, especially among kids that get clumsy. The packaging says eight or above, but with no loose pieces there is no harm in letting younger kids play with it, I think its safe to say if they can follow instructions they should have one. You should use your own judgement.
This product comes recommend it. The volume can be adjusted and its tolerable, unless your not playing.. in which case your going to get stick of hearing the four instructions over and over.
