...I bought this chainsaw when a 10 metre tree fell across my garden fence. I chose Bosch because I have other products mady by this company and they have appeared well designed and reliable. The 1800 watt motor was more powerful then I had expected and the instructions were extremely good covering the safe use of the chainsaw. I am pleased I bought this model with 40cm blade and not the shorter version at 35 cm.
The chainsaw has 2 excellent safety devices, the first requires two buttons to be operated to avoid accidental starting or use by a child. the second is an anti kick back device which applies a brake to the chain if the chainsaw is thrown upwards in the process of cutting a tree or branch. I also like the fact that you do not need spanners or tools to tighten the chain, it has a built in tensioning device which is easy to use...

Advantages: Hose reel, well balanced, detergent tank, the king of its family. Disadvantages: Accessories/additional lances etc are hard to find, but are available.

Now the many features include, a hose reel, (no longer do you have to wind the high pressure hose up by hand and it spring back to life in your face), simply wind it back up onto the reel and voila!, nice tidy storage. ...priced at £35 and you have the back up of the name Bosch and also a two year warranty. I have only owned it for about a week but have used it nearly every day and have not found any problems with it, the only thing I can't comment on is how long it will keep going for as I've not had it long but I have had Bosch jig saws before and got a good 5 years with almost daily use, and you are well safe for the first 2 years anyway....
