"Bosch DWW07W450B, an excellent chimney cooker hood"

I have this cooker hood for about one year, and was acquired because my older Beko cooker hood was getting more and more outdated both morally and physically. The visual appearance was deplorable while the power button was blocked on the lowest speed with no chance whatsoever to set it on more powerful fan. From the moment I saw this Bosch cooker hood in the store I was impressed especially with the looks and I've decided to buy it.

Installation and two operational modes

Installing the cooker hood is quite easy, you just need to drill few 8 mm holes and to consult the recommended placement limits on top of your cooker, all available in the product "'manual"'.

There are two operational modes and you can use them accordingly to your needs:
Exhaust air mode when the air which is drawn in from your cooking skills is cleaned by the grease filters and conveyed to the exterior by a pipe system.
Circulating-air mode when the air which is drawn in is cleaned by the
grease filters conveyed back into the kitchen. On this mode make sure you also have installed an activated carbon filter that will bind the smells into the active carbon (for a while, depending on how much you cook).
I personally use the Circulating-air mode because I don't cook very often at home ( jumping between mother-in-law and mother cuisine skills). My kitchen is also set on the balcony and it is very well ventilated and I also dislike the large exhaustion pipe system. Nonetheless if you cook a lot I recommend the Exhaust air mode because humidity will remain inside the house while the active carbon filter is efficient only for a while.

Performance and the corresponding noise levels

At the highest power level the hood as impressive extraction rate of 390 m³/h that guaranteed kitchen free odour in no time. Nonetheless at the highest settings of air extraction the hood is very loud with 67 dB (A). Fortunately the air extraction is very good at both normal and low power and the sounds levels are much more tolerable. I always set the cooker hood at low settings and the noise is definitely not upsetting. The maximum output for recirculating air is lower at 230 m³/h, but is impressive nonetheless. The 70 cm wide exhaustion clearly helps the performance.

Design. filters and cleaning

I personally love the design, it has an elegant look with no sharp edges while the stainless steel design clearly improves the aesthetics. I do recommend that the cooker at least to have the same stainless steel design for the kitchen aesthetics.
Filters are made of metal and are easily cleanable with domestic cleaning products ( they are full of grease) and you must clean the grease filter at least every 2 months, even sooner if you are an avid chef. Also the odour filter made of active carbon filter is not originally provided, make sure to buy one if needed.

Functions, lighting and power consumption

Concerning functions the cooker hood is a standard model and doesn't include unnecessary functions such as remote and touch control or interval operations. Some more expensive cooker hoods have saturation indicator for metal and charcoal filter and that was nice to have but the lack is understandable at this price level.

Lighting is more than powerful at 2 x 28W and 270 lux if you don't expect the cooker hood to illuminate the whole kitchen. For cooking is more than enough. Some more expensive hoods have LED lighting at 2-3 W with similar lux and I do hope that LED lighting will be implemented in more affordable products such as this one in the future.

The total motor power goes up to 95 W, and this is very efficient because other larger cooker hoods can consume up to 300 W under full load.

Conclusion

Cooker hoods can be hazardous products if not handled carefully , I recommend to read the safety instructions just before the use, clean it at least at two months and never leave unattended your kids near the cooker and the cooker hood and everything should be just fine. Concerning this product I am more than happy with its looks, performance and ease of cleaning and not so satisfied with the noise levels at medium and especially higher power levels. No LED lighting is also is a minus considering how efficient and E-friendly the LED-s are. Highly recommended.

Ciao receives money by selling a partner product. There are hundreds of products to be reviewed and are not and when someone tries to help Ciao and do something about it, there are people that will begin to bash and criticize. I repeat the scope of Ciao is to sell the partners products. If we bash each other reviews because we don't think one week is not enough to review one product, or because we suspect one fabricated fragment in the review (that will help the product sell), the number of reviews will dramatically decrease and Ciao will die. I know is easy and fun to criticize but I am here for a living, I have a baby boy that needs food and clothes and my part job isn't enough to support my family that why I've joined Ciao. To survive. I respect so much Ciao members, there are so many amazing reviews, much better than my reviews but to help Ciao you must make a lot of reviews that will help a large number of products to sell. If you are here to write two reviews is almost one year (toucanplayer) yet to criticize other perhaps you have come to the wrong place.

Sorry but no. The cooker hood product comes with an active carbon filter already. But you don't say whether it is washable or not. After a year's ownership you'd have thought you'd know at least. Another unbelievable actual owned product review.
