As with all Bosch gear, this is well designed, and feels solid (though as it is new, my Durability score is a complete guess - there should be a "Don't yet know" answer to this criterion). The trigger gives variable speed, and there is also a two speed mechanical gear - slow for screwdriving (max 400 rpm) and fast for Drilling (max 1650). I bought this to supplement a Makita tool, so I could have one tool with a drill bit and one with a driver bit, thus avoiding constant changing. Although it develops higher torque than any other power tool I have used, this is by far the worst (yes - worst) tool I have bought. First of all, it has only a 10mm chuck, in a market that seems to have 13mm as the standard. Second, the small base of the battery has a sharply angled heel, with such an awkward balance that it is too easy for it to fall over as soon as you put it down on its base.
