Using it to drill into wood is fine. To put screws in, again very good. I managed to put up a small shed, which involved using for screws only. The battery lasted for almost the complete job, so I was glad I had the spare on charge. Do not buy this drill if you are looking to do a lot of DIY work. As a drill/driver it is pretty good though. Buy wisely though as currently you can pick up Makita drills, cordless, with hammer action, plus a spare battery for under £100. I purchased a Makita and the difference is like chalk and cheese. Much more power, torque and battery life, for very little additional cost. That said, if all you want to do is put together flat pack furniture, this is certainly up to the job.
