Myself and my partner have quite a hectic working life and both work late regularly, so decided to invest in a quality dishwasher to save us some time in the evenings. With the Bosch SGV53E33 we were absolutely not disappointed.Installation >>>
We had the dishwasher installed about a month ago, and it took next to no time to fit. The plumber actually remarked that he had fitted a couple of the same model before and they were refreshingly straight forward to plumb in and fit. I have to say though, this plumber had installed the same unit before, and if you are self-installing, please be aware that the instructions are very basic and unclear in parts. So it's only easy if you know how! At this point it's also worth noting that the Bosch SGV53E33 has versatile attachments so it can be fitted to either a hot or cold water supply (ours is straight onto the hot supply).Noise (or lack thereof) >>>
In my previous experience, it's not unusual for dishwashers to be loud and distracting. Our home is open plan, with a straight view from the lounge into the kitchen, so I really didn't want to have to listen to a noisy dishwasher when trying to relax. Thankfully, this Bosch model is very quiet indeed - the sounds is just a faint background hum, the odd rumble and a little noise while draining, which is to be expected I supposeCleaning >>>
The quality of cleaning is the most important aspect here, and I'm pleased to say it has been very thorough. We often use casserole dishes and large pots to cook sauces in, which can lead to a lot of burnt on and stubborn marks. So far the Bosch seems to blast through these with no trouble at all and gives a great clean to all of utensils, cutlery and crockery too.Usage >>>
It is very easy to program and choose your setting, although there isn't a great deal of choice, so it's difficult to go wrong. The unit is also very easy to load and unload, although some may feel that the drawers are a little on the flimsy side, but this would only ever be a problem if you absolutely crammed it full to capacity. The folding racks in the bottom drawer make loading larger objects really easy too. There is more than enough space for all of our dishes, even if we have been lazy and had a few days-worth mounting up (shameful!).Overall, a very good unit for the price. We're happy with it, as it cleans quickly, quietly and efficiently. Nothing to report on maintenance yet, as it is working perfectly fine (here's hoping I'm not tempting fate there!).
