I purchased my Bosch 3 weeks ago, and first of all I must point out that it is well worth shopping around for prices. With regards to the machine itself, It is the best thing since sliced bread. It has a wide range programmes to suit all types of washes including a "hand wash programme" which I have used to wash silk garments with excellent results. I have also found the "quick wash" to be of particular use for just freshening clothes up, as it only takes just under half an hour to do. In terms of energy saving, the machine has a really clever auto half load facility. Basically the machine can work out for itself if you have a smaller load and adjust its water intake accordingly. This is a particularly good feature if like me, you tend to forget to press the "Half Load" when doing a smaller wash. Anything to save on fuel bills is always a bonus and helps us all to do our ECO bit. The only thing that initially put me off with the machine was the "B" rating given for spin performance. Having now used the washer, I am a little confused as to why this rating was given as the 1200rpm spin performance from my personal experience is excellent. The machine itself only has a cold fill water inlet, which is useful if you do not have a hot water connection near by. I was a little concerned about this initially, but as the salesman explained: Washing machines will only take in cold water for all programmes with the exception of the one boil wash. Another useful feature with the Bosch machine is the extra rinse feature, ideal if you have sensitive skin towards soap powders. The only downside, I found the controls took a little bit of getting used to and I think could of been made a bit more user friendly. However if like me you only tend to use 2 or 3 different wash programmes, you do get used to the machine quite quickly. Overall I am very pleased with both the washingand spinning performance and more importantly with how quiet it is when running.
Advantages: Short wash cycle Disadvantages: Can be noisy if on uneven surface
Me and my partner purchased this washing machine about 18 months ago when we moved into our new house and paid about £280 for it. The machine is brilliant - it has a large loading capacity, various different cycles to choose from, is very quick (about an hour and 10 mins for a full load) and is reasonably quiet. Clothes always come out very clean, even if heavily soiled. The spin cycle is very good - it can be quite noisy if you just put on the spin ...
