When it arrived the first thing that struck me was the weight of the machine as I nearly threw it across the room when I picked it up, such was the lightness of it.

It is “A” energy rated which means it is among the most economical driers in its class.

Living in an apartment means I have no access to a washing line so a tumble drier or a clothes horse are the only options. A clothes horse didn’t seem practical so I opted for a tumble drier.
Walking into my local branch of Comet I found myself with a huge array of driers all with varying specs and prices.

When it arrived the first thing that struck me was the weight of the machine as I nearly threw it across the room when I picked it up, such was the lightness of it.
The drier is only available in white and has a timer dial from 1 minute to 2 hours; it has 2 buttons, a start button and a low heat button. The hose is about 2 metres long and easily reaches a window when in use which is useful as some houses don’t have a hose outlet.
It is “A” energy rated which means it is among the most economical driers in its class.
To switch it on you close the door, set the time and press the start button. Once started it switches direction of rotation about every 15 seconds, this is supposed to give a more even airflow for maximum drying and indeed it does seem to work as a full load will be dry in around 1 hour.
It is a little noisy in operation and I have to close the door to the room it is in when it is on as it does intrude otherwise.
As with most electrical items it comes with the statutory 1 year warranty which covers all parts.
This tumbler is very easy to use, reasonably priced and does a good job as well as being energy efficient, however the noise levels are distracting and that would make me reconsider getting this model again.
...dealers, and finally found the Bosch WTA 2000 in Comet. My husband had heard good reports about Bosch, and the energy efficiency was rated as good, so we opted for this one.
What about insurance?
We have never bought insurance with any of our goods as I believe thay are a waste of money, and can cost up to 50% of the cost of the machine, so again we decided on just the manufacturer 1 year warranty.
How long did it take to arrive?
Comet had one ... ...So what are Bosch like for keeping appointments?
Brilliant. The engineer arrived at 9.10am on the dot. He was courteous and helpful. Unfortunately, he didn't keep the part on his van. He ordered the part (called a felt bearing), told me it is coming from Germany, and that it will take 2-8 days (including the weekend!), and left with the instruction not to use the machine.
So here I am, with no machine, and after all, it is only 13 months old. Although ...

Advantages: Brand - Reverse Action Disadvantages: Noisey-Prone to overheat
...bought our washing machine the Bosch WFL2260 we knew we had hit the jackpot, what a machine. So we thought ok, our tumble dryer has had it's day we'll buy the Bosch WTA 2000 dryer to accompany our washing machine. What a mistake!
I would never buy another Bosch tumble dryer again. When we first had it, it was fine, but the noise on the second week was noticably louder, i had the guy come to check it, he messed about for about for about half an hour ... ...the Bosch is on the tip, and we bought a White Knight..what a machine! But that's for another review.
The moral of this review is just because a company may be outstanding making one genre of machine it does not mean all the machines are going to be the same. ...
