There I was looking for a pair of speakers. I must admit that I have always admired ands respected higher end products.
My amplifier is no less then a yamaha dsp-a1, and my DVD player, a sony dvp - 7700.

I went to hifi shops and they all stated the same.. (unless of course they sold their products) When I took the speakers out of the box, I really did think that I had been ripped off. The speakers were so small. I remeber getting a bad feeling through the pit of my stomach. So very small. How could these fill my room with luscious fullfilled liquid music?
They did. They did. They did. And with a wow factor. Such room filling fidelity, and the bass so controlled.

I have had the BOSE Accoustimass 5 stereo system for quite a few years now. It is a testament to their quality that I have not needed to upgrade these. BOSE have released 2 further versions of this setup and there are specialised surround sound units for those who favour films before music.
Why BOSE AM5?

Size was a significant issue in the decision - in my small flat of old, I had little room for floor speakers. After some research ... ...for the 5 speaker setup.
What You Get
===========
A powerful base unit that powers each the 2 cube speaker modules.
The 2 cube speakers are attached and pivot in the middle horizontally. The idea is that you can 'reflect' the sound from the various walls in the room to give a perfect sound distribution.
There is a supply of average quality speaker wire to connect from the base module to the speakers and a power cable.

causing it but somehow, the musical experience was simply not cohesive. All the elements seemed to be there but were for some reason, just not coming together to produce music that ?involves? the listening. I am known for my pathetic, even ?weird? involvement in music and for me, it really does have to move me, usually to tears. This is totally a genuine and involuntary reaction and one which in some ways, is a bit of a nuisance ? not to mention, an embarrassment! However, at this stage of events, this was simply not happening. Something was obviously wrong. I have listened to less expensive and far less highly regarded loudspeakers which were far more involving. Surely, this just couldn?t be right?
I then began to think about this problem and thought back to a Bose Accoustimass AM5 speaker system I once owned. This ?was? very involving ...
