Before i start this reveiw i want to state that the Bose soundock is an exceptional piece of kit. Before i bought mine i toyed with the idea of a lesser quality and obviously less expensive option but was lucky to hear a freinds unit before i spent any money,needless to say the difference in sound quality is like compareing a honda to a porshe. Personally i'm a convert but i will try to be unbiased.
SIZE 6.65" H x 11.91" W x 6.48" D . 16.89 x 30.26 x 16.47 cm . (Basically the speaker face is slighty smaller than an A4 sheet of paper and although it is just over 6" deep, 1.5-2" is taken up by the ipod dock which makes the speaker quite slim) 4.56 lb (2.1 kg) .

PROS Unbelievable sound. At high volumes there is little or no discernable distortion in the sound so the music is as crystal clear as lower levels. There is a lovely rich tone from it which is amazing considering how small the unit is.Lesser speakers have a tendancy toward a tinnier sound. At half volume it can fill the room. I have mine upstairs in the bedroom but i can hear it clearly downstairs at the other end of the house.
Compatibility with any size iPod that has a docking connector on the bottom
Easy to setup and use. Plug the power lead in,choose the dock for your particular ipod (these come supplied) click in place and stick your ipod in. Viola 5 minutes if you're really slow. Choose your songs or playlists as normal and away you go.

CONS Remote is so small it can easily be lost
Charging lead has a bulky transformer on it which is the size of a housebrick and can be unsightly and difficult to conceal.
Lack of functions on the remote. ie you can't select playlists through the remote only through the ipod
If more than one person uses it with different sized ipods then changing the inserts could be a pain.
Price. Quality does'nt come cheap. I purchased mine direct from bose at £249 but they seem to range from £220-£249 with the difference being in the postage costs. They are available slightly cheaper in the states at $279-299.
CONCLUSION If you want good sound with the functionality of your ipod then this is a must. Don't let the price put you off, this is an extremely high quality product and the price reflects that but the sound quality is worth it. Bose has a reputation for high quality in sound and product and it is well deserved in my opinion. On rereading this review i seem to be repeating the word Quality a lot and this is what you can expect. I hope this is helpful to you and please let me know if i have omited anything.
