Advantages: excellent effect range Disadvantages: expensive new/you will need a power supply
I had been searching for the right delay pedal for a few years and i had read a lot of good press about the BossDD5. My Friend had an earlier version (DD2 or 3) and as i liked the range of effects on that peddle i took a gamble and purchased a DD5.
I managed to purchase a second hand DD5 (this cost me £95). I believe that new they are around £150 mark, so they aint cheap that's for sure.
The good news is that it is an absolute beauty.
Firstly, the sheer amount of variations of delay is incredible. From straight forward delay variations to backwards loops to an ability to press and hold the footpedal and record a phrase which is then repeated for`ever whilst you play something neat over the top of it.
You can achieve the most amazing effects simply by tweeking the various dials a few degrees here and there.
The quality ...
Advantages: Very Cheap, Professinal Sound, Easy To Use Disadvantages: coul Possibly Have A slighty better "hold feature" but nothing much to worry about
Hi Dudes!!!
This DigitalDelay Pedal is easily the best on the market unlessyou want to spend absolutley £1000'ssss on rack and pro audio gear. Many proffesinals use this pedal or the slightly newer DD6 and they have the moeny to spend on the rack gear which goes to show how good this pedal is.
It has many different settings allowing you to creating interesting and useful delays such as slapback delay used on "Aint Talkin Bout Love" or bigger delays used by brian may etc. These are just to name a few.
I would reccomend buying a mains power supply for this pedal as it uses the batterys like there is no tommorow but all the other boss pedals are fine, Just to warn You!!!
Peace!!! ...

Advantages: Good value for money good range of effects. Disadvantages: The plastic case seems to be not very robust, but is is quite solid
Back in the old days, when i was a teenage rock star and had a full head of hair, the effect known today as 'Delay' was called 'Echo' and was achieved by using a strange looking device known as a Watkins Copycat.
This was a small suitcase containing a simple five headed tape player and an eighteen inch loop of old fashioned recording tape. The idea was that you plugged in the guitar to the box and plugged the box into the amplifier. The first tape head recorded the sound onto the tape and the other heads played the sound back as the tape moved past them. You could choose which heads to play back and how fast to run the tape. Think of the title music to the original Dr. Who series and that was how a single sound came out of a Watkins copycat.
These days it is a lot easier, the effect is processed digitally and comes in a small ...
