Behringer FX600 pedal -More sounds than a blender full of cats

Advantages: A lot of effects in one unit. Good price
Disadvantages: The Blue LED is a bit bright and can be distracting

When you get bored of hearing your guitar making ordinary noises it is time to plug in an effects pedal. An effects pedal is a foot operated gizmo that you plug into the line between an instrument (usually a guitar) and the amplifier. Its purpose is to modify the signal from the instrument. There is a huge range of pedals available, back in the 1970s I had two that are now considered to be classics, the Dunlop Crybaby Wah wah pedal and, I kid you not, a distortion pedal that gloried in the unlikely and slightly pervy name of The Big Muff Fuzz Box. Later on more advanced effects were available, with octavers, phase shifter and chorus heralding a range of modulating effects. These range hugely in price but i have discovered the Behringer range of pedals which offer great quality at very fair prices. The FX600 is a multi-effects ...

Review of Behringer FX600 Multi Effects Pedal

All join in with the Chorus: UC200 stereo pedal from Behringer.

Advantages: Great Value for money, Solidly built,
Disadvantages: battery access is a bit fiddly

Oh my God, I here you say, not another effects pedal review. Don't worry, there's only one more to go in my collection. As with the other pedals this one has a solid plastic moulding with a slightly awkward to open battery compartment, accessed by pushing in the pedal hinge pins and lifting it off. Much better to use an external power supply, it saves money and broken fingernails. So what does a Chorus pedal do? Well it sits in the line between the guitar and amplifier and alters the signal. Basically it is a modulating effect which adds a slight highlight and a lowlight, to create a softened, even slightly ethereal tone to the sound. There are four controls that allow you to adjust the effect, Level, Tone, Rate and Depth, an input jack and two outputs so that you can use two amplifiers to create stereo effects. The controls ...

Review of Behringer UC200 Ultra Chorus Stereo Effects Pedal

Boss ME-20 Guitar Effects Processor; try and see the difference.

Advantages: user friendly, easy to use, portable and durable
Disadvantages: none I can name because it is so good

The quality of sound produced especially when used with a double hum buck guitar is superb. It is very user -friendly, and has a lot of cool effects you can play with. It has 3 effect pedal and a wah pedal that you can you use for different kinds of tunes such as metal, country or techno/delay sounds. I use it preferably on metal tunes and a few delay/echo effects that I need for our band sound. It is really great for average users because you can easily navigate through its user- friendly format and it really sounds like you are a professional guitar player, especially when combined to good guitars. It is more durable because of its superb body and very portable. If you want to invest for digital effects, you should definitely check this one. ...
