The BOSS Metal Zone MT-2 has become one of the world's most commonly used effects pedals, and is the pedal of choice of most of the metal genre's finest guitarists. It has a three-band equaliser and semi-parametric midtone equaliser to provide an optimum range of tones to suit a variety of subgenres.

It seems that BOSS are so confident in their product that they have offered a 5 year warranty with their product. Perhaps this is because it is built of solid metal for extra durability; be it in your bedroom or at a live show.

The Metal Zone MT-2 is powered either through a 9V AC adaptor or from a 9V battery. Yet, I think that although this pedal does produce an excellent sound, the price is completely ridiculous. Retailing at around £59.99, it is no match for the Behringer Ultra Metal UM100 pedal, which although is not as solid or rugged, retails at £14.99. That's a quarter of the price of the MT-2!

Having used both pedals myself i can safely say that the UM100 gives a much crisper yet distorted tone. So unless you are more interested in buying a brand name than a product, i would steer clear of all BOSS products and buy yourself 4 Behringer pedals for the price of one MT-2.

I think this looks good but at almost £60 there is no way I could afford it. I'm already saving up for a new guitar aswel tring to find money for gig tickets so there is no way I could afford this at the moment. Still Geat Review!!!

Although this is brief, I find it very helpful. Even so, I'd like to see you expand your reviews, especially as you write very well. David
