I have a big list of all of the perfumes that I currently want to buy so at Christmas I wasn't sure which of them I'd receive. However, I was very, very happy when I unwrapped my present to reveal the Hugo Boss Orange EDT which I have been wanting ever since I tried the sample in a shop earlier this year. The adverts with Sienna Miller have been well played on TV but she was not the reason for me wanting this perfume. I just genuinely like the scent of it and I love the bottle as well which is what initially caught my eye. I got the gift set of this so also got the body lotion too.

PACKAGING

This perfume comes in a tall glass bottle that is a crystal effect and it has a thick silver lid. The glass is clear and you can see the orange liquid inside of it. On one side of the bottle it has a silver mirror down it which gets easily covered in fingerprints but has the Boss logo engraved on it which is a nice touch. The other side is the same but it is just plain mirror. It is a distinct bottle but is a really nice design and has a look of sophistication as well as being easy to hold and not being to complex a design but more straightforward.
HUGO BOSS ORANGE

Upon opening this bottle, I assumed this fragrance would be a very heavy citrus scent but that it is not. It has a spray top which sprays out just enough perfume. At first, it smells very sweet and lightly fruity but also a bit floral at the same time. I think if you sniff enough you may just smell a light hint or orange but it really does not dominate the fragrance at all. This is a light, sweet scent and it is a very feminine scent at that so I mainly like to wear this fragrance in the daytime but it is versatile enough to be worn in the evening also,

To go into more detail on the notes in this fragrance which was launched in 2009. It has top notes of sweet apples which I would never have guessed being titled orange but the sweetness does make sense and it has that fruity hint. It has heart notes of white flower notes and orange blossom which again describes the fact that picked up on floral notes as it creates an evenly balanced combination. Lastly, it has base notes of sandalwood, olive wood and vanilla. I love vanilla so hence why I like this and again the woody notes do explain what I couldn't pick up on.

When wearing this scent, it doesn't go on too strong. I'd say that one spray is just enough to get the scent to stay on, anymore might be just too much. I put this on normally when I go out and find that it does last a while, it does fade slightly but there is no need to reapply. The next day you can still smell this on your clothes and it mainly smells more of vanilla and a woody scent as it fades more into the day becoming a bit more subtle. It definitely isn't a statement fragrance but it is very nice to wear and it goes for most occasions.

This perfume lasts a good while and is one of my favourites as it is an every day scent. I get a lot of compliments when wearing it and I'd say it is probably best suited to a younger woman or middle aged but it may be too young a scent for an older woman. The perfume is easy to wear and I love it, I always wear it and am very pleased with how well it lasts. It is the perfect feminine fragrance and comes in lovely gift sets so you can buy them or the EDT separate.
COST

This perfume can be purchased in all department stores and places like Boots. The Perfume Shop are currently selling this for £26.50 for the 30ml EDT, £37.50 for the 50ml EDT, £29.99 for the 50ml gift set which comes with shower gel and body lotion, this is probably your best bet.
