I work as a sound engineer in various venues, and I can immediately guage the quality of a band on whether or not they have TU2's (or similair pedal tuners).

There is nothing more annoying than out of tune guitars, musicians tuning by ear mid-set, or people sharing guitar tuners (causing long tuning breaks). Simply step on this pedal, tune up silently, step on it again and you're ready to play. Battery life is long, and despite not being true bypass, the pedal is more than suitable for live playing.
The display is long enough to provide accurate tuning, and is very easy to see/read on dark stages due to the lit up red/green/red lights indicating flat/in tune/sharp.

The other useful feature of this is that at the rear of the pedal, next to the 9v input, there is an output that allows you to run a 9v daisy chain to your other pedals, effectively using the TU2 as a power supply. A fantastic feature for those using multiple pedals.
If you buy this pedal to keep your guitar in tune, you will not be dissapointed. I use more detailed tuners for instrument set up work, but for live playing I desire nothing else! A fantastic tuner that has stood the test of time and will probably be with us for a long time to come. Highly recommended!

...like tanks as are all boss single pedals. Functions are brilliant. Guitar and bass guitar tuning are taken care of. Ease of use is fool proof. Plug your guitar in. Play a note and depending on what settting you have it on it will either tell you what note you are playing or what open string number. It then has a crescent of lights that tells you how close you are to either the string or the noteAnother bonus is that when you turn this pedal on it ... ...on stage or in the bedroom.The pedal is very accurate and actually more accurate than some rack mount tuners i have used in the past. This pedal also doubles up as a power supply for your other 9v effect pedals. If you are running then off the mains all you do is run your mains power to the tu20 and then link all the others to that. The only downside to this pedal is battery life. The best tuner ever, forget your rack gear and pro audio nonsense, this is definatly the best tuning pedal there is.
You can run this pedal through your effects loops or run it straight thrpugh into your amp either way works fine. The stomp action allows you to by-pass the tuner when not using and retain your sound with no differennce but when you press it down to tune it cuts of sound coming from your ampliphier so people in the pub ...
