Advantages: cheap , compact , powerfull Disadvantages: bit heavy if you need to move it about
...Well im really happy with this , i bought it to compliment my new in car dvd/stereo , ive just had it fitted and im over the moon with it. Ive had big installs in my boot before with loads of amps any many subs and other speakers but with this you get everything you need at a fraction of the price and it sounds just as good!
i had mine fitted by a professional but looks simple enough to do yourself (id just rather pay someone incase i dont do it right lol).
i was a bit unsure at first what it would be like as ive had a 10" active sub before and wasnt really powerful enough for my liking , but this is a 12" active so comes with its own built in amp and really packs a punch.
you get a few knobs to fiddle with on the back too like gain, frequancy and boost which i had great fun with trying to get just the right sound i like. Im into hard...

Advantages: Price, build and sound quality, finish Disadvantages: 2 channels may not be enough
...When I bought my VW Bora about a year and a half ago now I wasn't overly impressed with the amount of base and sound quality I could get from the stereo. So the idea was to look for a well priced amplifier that wasn't to complicated but would provide the low end base that I was looking for without blowing out the back window in the process.
Don't get me wrong here, I am not one of those people who drives about with their windows down pumping out rubbish to all who care (not many).

Advantages: Reasonable-ish value and very nice design Disadvantages: Simply doesn't sound deep or loud enough
...I bought a Fli Active 12 online for about £70 a while ago, and was dissapointed with this sub.
I should point out it is the mark two, ported version, and I think there has since been a more recent version since.
In comparison I also have a very cheap looking 12" sub with a cheap, less powerful amp but much bigger enclosure and this sounds much better than the Fli sub I am sad to say (both louder and deeper). I can only assume this is the enclosure making most of the difference, as the magnet on this other speaker is very small (certainly smaller than the Fli's magnet, which you can see through the reflex port), and it was a domestic 8ohm speaker, not a car one (typically 4ohm).
The Fli sub won't produce very deep bass and will not go loud enough to sound good on the move (at least not in a noisy older car like mine). It also...
