Advantages single wrapped, easy to use,
Disadvantages none
I first discovered these when I was looking for a replacement for my spray lens cleaner. I wished I had something that I could carry around in my handbag.
BOUCHARD OPTICAL LENS WIPESThese come in packs of 24. They are singularly wrapped which makes them ideal to open one at a time and then throw them away.
They cost £2.49 for a box of 24 wipes. They are packed in twos, with a perforated edge to separate them. They are for all lens types and are fog free. ( not legs!!!!!!)
You simply tear off the top of the wipe packaging, remove the wipe and rub over your lenses. Obviously, removing your glasses from you face first! as this makes it a lot easier. The wipes contain alcohol and they remove smears and dirt easily. They are also good for if you are out in the rain or cold and then go indoors and steam up!
I use them by cleaning both sides of the glass at the same time with the wipe wrapped around the glasses.Mu husband can usually clean his glasses as well on the same wipe, so I think that they are very useful and cost efficient!
They are also ideal for use on Tom TomSatellite Navigation screens to remove greasy fingermarks. They have a slight chemical smell to them, but it is not overly strong and does not linger.
MANUFACTURERThe manufacturer has a website, www.iba-bouchard.co.uk. This is currently under construction, however it does have telephone numbers on there should you require them.
WHERE CAN I BUY THEM?I understand that these are available from some branches of Tesco. I have also seen them at out local hardware shop.
I personally get mine from www.kneesnet.co.uk. I have to pay postage on this, but have yet to find a local store that sells them.As my husband is VAT registered, we claim the VAT back on them for business use. What for? cleaning the Tom Tom SatNav of course!
WHAT ARE THEY LIKE COMPARED TO RIVAL WIPESI have tried Boots own wipes and also a tub of 100 wipes from Betterware, but the tubs dry out so they are useless. I have not found any wipes that are better than Bouchard yet.
