Now I am a huge fan of Bourjois products and I have to admit that when I first came across these eye shadow pots, quite a few years ago now I thought to myself, now this I?ve got to try, having already indulged in Bourjois eyshadow encapsulated in the infamous little round pots which remain to this day the signature of the Bourjois brand and loving it I thought I?d add these to my collection. An intriguing and uniquely designed no spills pot that comes complete with an ingenious built in brush the Bourjois Suivez Mon Regard eye-shadow is the perfect make up accessory for any handbag and you are guaranteed ease of application that looks professional no matter where you are.
For those of you who don?t already know, Bourjois has actually been around for quote sometime and was established in 1863 by Monsieur Alexandre Napoleon Bourjois in Paris making it one of the oldest French cosmetic companies in operation today. Monsieur Bourjois realised in the 1860?s that there was a niche market for superior quality theatrical make up as the make up used by stage actresses were damaging to the skin and uncomfortable to wear and it was in 1863 that he created ?Pastel Joues? the first ever powder blush which was a great success and soon became popular with women off stage as well as on stage.
One of the things that appeals to me about Bourjois products is the fact that their products are not tested on animals and they do not use GMO?s.
Ok so that?s enough about the company, what about the product. Well I have been rather indulgent in my purchase of this Bourjois Eyeshadow and my collection now includes the following
Number 01 ? Regard Praline Rose Number 03 ? Regard rose or Number 06 ? Regard rayon Vert Number 08 ? Regard bleu trompe-l?oeil ? kind of like a shimmery lilac Number 10 ? Illuminateur du regard Number 22 ? Regard or pepite Number 24 ? Bleu swimming pool Number 26 ? Gris Pixel
I have another one which is sort of beige in colour but unfortunately I?ve had it so long that all of the info has rubbed off of the label, so over the last few years I have accumulated 9 of these little pots of shimmery goodness. I have colours that I use for every day wear, and more vibrant colours for heading out for a girly nights out, it?s always good to have variety, so that I have something to go with any outfit I choose to wear.
Now the instruction is to shake the product well before application, this is to ensure that the right amount of the powder lands on the applicator brush. The application is pretty straight forward, once you?ve shaken the tub as instructed, just unscrew the top, pull out the applicator brush, and apply. I have got into the habit of checking to see how much powder has ended up on the brush as sometimes there can be slightly too much and then you end up with powder on your cheeks because the excess on the brush falls of and lands right where you don?t want it to land and if you?re like me, and do your eyes last, this can be a bit of a nightmare, when you?re finished put the brush back into the pot and replace the lid, watch out though ladies, I?ve been caught out a couple of times with the whole tightening of the lid and I?ve often opened up my make up bag to find shimmery carnage on the bottom because the lid has come loose.
The good thing about this eye-shadow is that you can apply it as light or as heavy you like, both application techniques taking on very different looks, and you can use the colours together. The overall look is that of a soft shimmery shadow with beautiful strong but subtle colour if that?s what you want ? but you can be bold with this powder too. I find that the powder lasts all day provided you don?t have a nasty habit of rubbing your eyes.
I have only ever bought this from boots for £6.95 but I know you can find it in an abundance of stores throughout the UK including Superdrug, Tesco, Lloyds Pharmacy, Debenhams and of course boots.
One pot lasts an incredibly long time, out of the colours mentioned previously I have not yet had to replace one of them, so I would say well worth the money.
If you haven?t get tried it ladies ? give it a go and add some shimmer to your life J
Advantages: Cute, and good for high impact nights out Disadvantages: brush isn't all that good and can bend out of shape
...half covered with a clear Bourjois sticker and the actual power visible through the pot is rather striking in your makeup bag. The top is clear plastic and screws on at the same width of the main tub, and the brush sits inside the pot itself down a taper to the bottom ( all very hard to explain, just check the picture : )
Usage
This is where the already tepid love affair ends. The first time you use it the sheer novelty of having a brush within ... ...to the side. And then on subsequent applications you realize that because the brush fits totally in the taper to the bottom of the tub it will only ever pick up power on the very end of the brush. Not only that but it is very difficult to regulate how much power you pick up at any time.
So, having taken the brush out with an undetermined amount of powder at the end, you have to try manouvre it to your eye without it falling off onto your clothes. ...

Advantages: Easy to use, no mess, no waste Disadvantages: The price
As soon as these little pots came out I wanted to buy one in every colour! Unfortunately the price hinders that quite a lot (£6.40 from Superdrug.) But even though you may cringe by looking at the price, they are worth it. I bought one in the Illuminateur du regard 10, Bleu glacier 15 and the Bleu Rose 11! They're so neat and easy to use because the brush is already in the pot and it only picks up a bit at a time so you don't end up with loads of ... ...fantastic and vibrant and I love that they're so shimmery! They're definately the easiest loose powder eyeshadows I have used and also the least messy. The colour stays on for a long time without the horrible creasing you can get from a lot of other eyeshadows. They blend really well together and with other eyeshadows, its rain proof too! ...
