Hey Ciao! I'm going to tell you about the rather popular eye shadow that a lo of make up wearing ladies out there seem to love- and that's the Bourjois Paris Pastel Lumiere Pearl Eye shadow. I think this stuff is popular because it has original looking packaging, and it comes in rather a few funky, bright colours. The 'little round pots', which are characteristic of the eye shadows and blushers, are Bourjois Paris' trademark. They are easily recognised, and so when you see the little round pots, you know you're going to get a good quality product, and a bright and eye catching colour! To learn more, go to www.bourjois.co.uk.
The pots generally retail at £5.50 in shops like Boots and Tesco, which I think is the average price you can expect to pay for make up of this famous designer brand. BUT, where I live, I managed to buy this stuff for £2!!!! Girls- fine independent make up market traders, because it's where I got mine- and it's the real deal- no copies or anything.
The little round pots are all different colours (19 shades) according to what product you're buying- the pot matches the shade of the product. The pots are 4.5cm in diameter and 2 cm high, so they're nice and compact- easy to fit in a hand bag or make up bag. The top of the lid the pastel Lumiere eye shadow has gold writing on top. On the left hand side is the word 'Regard' and then the Bourjois Paris logo. You can then see the worlds 'Pastel Lumiere- Pearl Eye shadow' and beneath that is the colour and shade information. My favourite pot is the green shade, although this is labelled as 'Iridescent Blue'! It is shade number 49, but trust me- it's bright green! I can't currently find my shade on the website.
The round pot is made of plastic, and appears to be quite sturdy on first inspection. You open the pot by pushing a little gold button on the front of the pot, and the hinge lid clicks open. The eye shadow itself is set in solid form (not powder), but does have a fine powdery effect. The shape of the powder is also curved; not flat, so it makes it really easy to load up your make up brush, and be able to use up every last bit!
The pot comes with its own little applicator brush, though it is a fiddly little thing. It's one of those little cushion brushes, which is curved to match the curve of the inside of the pot, and the handle bit itself is just over 2cm long- that's not a lot to work with if you're in a hurry! However, I find the brush suits me just find when I'm applying the eye shadow normally, the head of the brush is small enough for me to be careful where I apply, so I can sweep the colour neatly on my eyelid, and you don't get any loose powder collecting below your eyes. Now, a tip I found out from the website- if you want more of an impact, and a longer lasting colour, apply the powder to wet skin. Trust me, the results are rather striking! I'm annoyed I didn't learn about this sooner!
I apply the powder on my eyelids (not all the way up to the eye brow) and it really does give the eyes a striking look, and for me, they look more open and brighter. IT definitely makes me feel good about myself and how I look! Green works well for blue eyes ladies!
The length of time the powder stays on for depends on where you're wearing the make up to, and what kind of look you want to get. I find that if I'm going out for the evening, one application on dry eyelids lasts moderately well. By the end of the night, the colour certainly has lost its intensity, but you can still see the green there, and it looks like you've just applied a pale and less intense colour! This is why I like this eye shadow so much- the results it gives always work in your favour; there are no smudgy eye lids, just alterations in the colour intensity! Applying the shadow to wet eyelids will make it last a lot longer, and it gives a dramatic look which will turn heads. Just make sure you apply in moderation, you don't want to spread it too far up your eyelid! If you want to wear the colour throughout the day, then you'll need it with you to do some touching up, either once or twice. I'm quite happy to do this! I also use the shadow in a slightly different way to accentuate my eyes and make them appear brighter. Using the very tip of the brush, I put some colour on it and very carefully apply it under my eyes, just on the eye lash line, if you do that, then put some mascara on, it gives your eyes a great look! Green is a very good colour to use for your eyes.
The scoring of the eye shadow fell for me, when the pot broke! A little plastic bit of the hinge snapped one day after being stored in my make up bag for a bit, now the pot is in 2 halves, and that means I can't really take the powder with me anywhere. The packaging needs to be a bit sturdier. If you look on the website, however, they have actually updated the eye shadow pots, so hopefully the new batches are more durable. The new pots also come with mirrors- oooooooh!
This hasn't put me off using the stuff, because the powder itself is of a very high quality, and lasts a very long time! You get 1.5g of the powder. I've had my pot for well over a year, and it shows no signs of running out yet! Another factor, which proves the high quality of the powder-, it doesn't break up in the pot. Too often I've had to chuck some eye shadows because they broke up in the case because they couldn't live up to too much moving around (But since my pot broke, it really hasn't had too much moving around!).
I don't know if the powder is suitable for sensitive eyes or not. I've never had any problems, but I couldn't find out on the website, or from the product packaging if it's suitable for sensitive users. I'd still recommend the eye shadow to anyone though, in my opinion, it's a cut above the rest.
Bourjois produce a lot more make up products, so I recommend checking them all out!
Advantages: staying power, colour range Disadvantages: packaging, price
...with. Although its good that Bourjois includes this most eye shadows do and this brush really isnt anything special!
Right I am going to stop moaning now! Having said all of that I do actually really like this product! There is a large variety of colour to choose from with this range and there should be a colour to suit everybody! I have one called lilas ( a lilac colour) and one called beige amber ( a beigy brown colour) and both look good when ... ...brown one blends into my skin colour and looks natural.
The eye shadow is easy to apply (if you use something other then the fiddely applicator they give you!) but you do have to put quite a lot on for it to be noticiable. In some ways this is good as you can control what amount you apply more easily but sometimes its just annoying if your in a rush!
To be honest there is no information on the product for me to tell you if it is waterproof or not ...

Advantages: stays put, looks fantastic, amazing mirror and applicator included Disadvantages: there are so many fantastic colours to choose from!!
Bourjois Eyeshadow is one of the best around. I have tried many Bourjois products including their eyeshadow, blusher and mascara and have yet to be disappointed. Some eyeshadows smudge into the creases of your eyes which isn't a good look at all or rub off and leave your eyeshadow looking patchy, but not this one. The eyeshaddow also stays put for a long length of time, which is what you want. This eyeshadow is great for a night out as it won't rub ... ...is roughly £4.99 - £5.99. Bourjois also have a tri-eyeshaddow available which has 3 different colours / tones per pot. There is a slight fragrance to the eyeshadow, which smells lovely! The eyeshadow can be removed with your standard cleanser / make-up remover. I think the packaging is great… with a mirror and applicator brush, what else do you need when you are on the go?
A fantastic buy! I love their other products too and would highly recommend ...

Advantages: easy to apply . Disadvantages: none that I have found
...range of eye shadows by Bourjois are great value for money. The actual range of colours is very impressive. They are very well packaged in that they do not break easily. The shadow is very easy to apply and you do not get that dragging sensation that you can get with other eye shadows. It also has very good staying power so you do not have to keep re-applying the eye shadow. The eye shadow gives a rich matt appearance and comes in a powder formula. ...

Advantages: great color and last Disadvantages: dont' know
This amazing eyeshadow in Beige Rose has lasted me foe ages! There are many different colours in the range but I like this one as it is a little more of a natural and neutral shade than the others. It is a vanilla colour which is a great base on which to apply other eyeshadows or you could leave it on, on it's own to achieve a pale, shimmery effect. It can be also used under the eyebrow to create a great highlighting effect which enhances the eye. ...

Advantages: Beautiful colour range, great staying power. Disadvantages: A bit pricey.
...eyeshadow really good. But, the Bourjois stand caught my eye, lots of dinky little pots of eyeshadow and so many colours too. I decided to treat myself and picked up two pots of eyeshadow, I decided on a neutral colour (beige rose 08) and a lovely dark brown (marron glace 54).
If I remember correctly I payed around £5.00 per eyeshadow 1.5g per pot - which I'll admit is a bit pricey for me!
However, the results proved well worth it as it was easy ... ...although I prefer to use my fingers. I used the two colours, the more neutral colour on my eye lid and the darker colour blended around the eye socket. The staying power is fantastic, whether you are just going to work or if you are going on a night out! I've found it lasts for 12 hours or more. It is very good, it is also suitable for sensitive skin and I found no irritation at all.
Overall, this is a must-have in your make-up bag. Even if you ...
