I was looking for a good shaver that does the job right, with a smooth and fast shave. After searching around for some time I found this excellent design product from Braun. This is without doubt the best Braun shaver to date. The combination of the new head, foil and cutter assembly has made this shaver the one to beat.
I have used the Panasonic ES 8163 and in many ways this gives a very similar shave, but with the very real advantage of the Braun cleaning system - I'm lazy when it comes to cleaning shavers - it's a chore, but for around Ģ3.50 per month in cartridges you get a consistently cleaned and dried shaver without any fuss, and it really feels new every time you use it in the morning.I've also used previous Braun's shavers and this is a major step forward on everything that's gone before.

And there, in a nutshell, is my problem with electric razors or shavers: Immediately after I use one I look like I have maybe had a bad shave and within 4 hours ? well before the end of the working day ? I look like I have not shaved at all.

I never expected to find an electric shaver which gave me as good a shave as a wet shave with a blade ? and to be completely honest, I still haven?t ? but the Braun Series 7 790cc comes closer than I ever expected ...

a Braun fanatic, off I went to search for one of their latest models
The 8595 is not exactly the latest evolution of Braun's shavers, but it is pretty recent.
Once I spotted it in Makro for Ģ99.99 + vat I knew I could not get it cheaper, even online, and so purchase was made.
Other prices I have seen, vary from Ģ127 up to Ģ159 - shop around!
2 The Contents

No huge surprises when opening the box, but a couple of interesting things I noted very soon.
There is the new version of the cleaning unit.!
This no longer has the section on it that gave up the ghost on my last one ! - design fault, I reckon, and at least they have rectified that - good job.
The result is that the cleaning unit is a bit more compact.
It is also a bit more hi-tec - extra Braun brains, which I'll describe later on.
