I picked up a box of dracell AA batteries (I think it was 12) at Makro a few years ago and included in the pack was a Braun 5615 battery electric shaver,
The cost of the whole pack (about £8 - I cannot quite remember) made the shaver just about free.

I can understand why duracell packaged the shaver with the batteries - it is the fastest way to use up a set of duracells that I have seen (apart from a digital camera).
What about the shaver? Is it any good?
I also have a Braun rechargeable ... ...the quality of the shave is the same, so yes it is an excellent little razor.
Its sideburn trimmer is small and ineffective, its brush is too small and soft to be any use for cleaning the innards, but as a very cheap emergency shaver it is excellent.

I also have a Braun rechargeable that cost about £30. The cutters are identical in both, the quality of the shave is the same, so yes it is an excellent little razor.

It is used occassionally (maybe once a week) and is still as good as new.
I think the product is still available to buy at about £10, although not as good a deal as mine, still a worthwhile purchase.
Advantages: Great for people with sensitive skin. Disadvantages: Expenditure on 2 x AA batteries.
...but I've found that the Braun 370 with its single smooth shaving foil causes me no skin irritation either during or after shaving. It has an effective on board trimming device for trimming down sideburns etc and an on board cleaning brush. The foil guard easily clicks off allowing you to clean the blade section below. At about a tenner this pocket sized yet still very effective battery powered shaver is tremendous value. You don't get a shave as ... ...pretty good. It takes two AA batteries which generally last me about three weeks worth of shaving so if you buy this it is maybe worth also buying a battery recharging unit that recharges alkaline AA batteries. I would really recommend this shaver to people who have very sensitive skin and/or to anyone who wants a reliable travel shaver. ...
