with the cheaper models so we had a trawl around and found the BraunThermoscan on special offer on the Boots website. Normally retailing at just under 40 pounds, we managed to pick it up for just under 30pounds, a real bargain.
It really is so simple, switch it on, wait for 3 digital lines to appear, press the button, put it in her ear and within 2 seconds it beeps to tell you the temperture has been recorded. Thats it!! Simplicity.
Now of course I then check time and time again just to be sure, and it pretty much comes up with the same temperature each time so I feel quite confident about its accuracy.
It comes with disposable earpieces so as not to spread any infection, very clear directions, and its own case for easy storage.

My son is a severe epileptic, who is very sensitive to temperature, he will often start fitting once his temperature hits 38c. Therefore it's very important I can keep a check on his temperature when he's ill. However, he also dislikes being held and would kick, bite and generally try to escape while we were waiting for an underarm thermometer to take a reading. Then on one of our many hospital visits they were trialling the BraunThermoscan, an in-earthermometer. Wow, it took seconds to take his temperature, was accurate, and most importantly the nurse didn't get kicked!!!!
