Braun 5570 SILK-EPIL X'elle BODY & FACE

Advantages: Easy to use, versatile
Disadvantages: Ingrowing hairs

...I was bought the Braun 5580 by my husband for Christmas (it was on my list)!! Normally retails for about £60 and was bought from Boots. I've been using it religiously for the past 2 months....probably about 4 times a week. I use it on my underarms, legs (upper and lower) and bikini line. I have also used it on my upper lip and my husbands chin. This proved too painful for both of us and we've not done it again....so, although you do get an attachment that enables you to use it on your face, you have to have a very high pain threshold to be able to do so. I've always shaved and occasionally have everything waxed, usually when we're going away on holiday or for a special occasion. I shave my legs and underarms everyday and my bikini line every other day (I find it gets stubbly otherwise)...not an attractive look! The Braun... Read review

...Absolutely fantastic. Easy to use, super efficient as it can pick even very short hair. I have been using an old Braun Silk Epil for over 10 years, and although it was still working I decided that it was time to change it, and I bought this one only a couple of weeks ago. I love it. It is so much quicker, and although I did not find the other one painful, this is even less so! It has very good extras like the little rollers attachment that gently massage the area that you are "shaving", or the light (that I thought was very silly to start off with) which actually helps you see if you have missed anything. ...I had the old Braun silk-epil since about 1999 and when it gave up the ghost I started shaving again. After a couple of months I noticed that I was hairier than usual and got really annoyed at having to shave every couple of days so decided to invest in another of Braun's epilators. I must admit that this particular model comes with lots of accessories (shaving head, small/starter epilator head, intermediate epilator head with massager, advanced epilator head & ice pack with glove) which I find excessive but if you are new to epilating I can see the advantage in being able to get used to using one by building up in stages.
