Advantages: Straightens hair like an iron Disadvantages: Can dry hair and cause damage
Around Christmas time of 2003 I first mentioned to my mother that I would like a set of hair straighteners as I was fed up of my hair being uncontrollable fly-away; ladies, I’m sure you know what it’s like when you want to look like a goddess with hair that could almost have been ironed flat but instead you get stuck with something that resembles a beehive and can’t be controlled no matter how hard you try with your heated brush or hair dryer.
Thankfully ... ...for Christmas, a very expensive (I believe around £40) set of Babyliss pro solid ceramic straighteners. They were presented to me in their original packaging of a black car-board box with a few pictures scattered around the place, once again of women with gorgeous hair.
When I opened the box the straighteners fell into my hands, black and stylish, lightweight, slim with a small dial numbered from 1 – 25 and a little on off button. They also came ...

Advantages: Cheap, effective Disadvantages: Can damage hair
I must be the only person here who didn't get on with GHD's. However, this didn't stop me in my quest for the perfect straighteners. My quest took me to Amazon where I discovered these for around £40.
The fact these said they were solid ceramic made me wonder, I didn't think that solid ceramic straighteners were this cheap. I bought them anyway, thinking if thy were no use, I could resell them....
The box arrived, and I took out the black straighteners, ... ...easier to maneuver. The straighteners are very lightweight. They come with 25 heat settings, depending on your hair type, although I used the highest heat setting on my hair. They also have an on/off switch on the side of these straighteners.
They took seconds to heat up, the light flashes while they’re heating, and stays red when optimum temperature is reached. To the highest setting, mine took about 30 seconds.
These glided through my hair ...

Advantages: different heat settings Disadvantages: Small plates
This is my second different pair of starighteners i have had. The first pair was the remingtons but as the ceramic started to peel off i decided to get these solid ceramic ones for basically the same price give a few pounds. LOOK
These straightners look really good and fairly professional. They are very sleek and have a curved handle for maximum comfort when straightening, and ease of use when straightening the back of hair. There black with a silver ... ...plates but the plates are really small and you nedd to section your hair off into layers and then into sections as the plates are quite long but very skinny, this means it takes longer to do. There are 25 heat settings, this is used to decide how hot they go for different types of hair. E.G thick and wavy would be 17-25. ect.
on/off switch and indicater light, it turns it on and off oviously and the light flashes red when the straighteners are not ...

...few times I finf the braun model matches up to the GHD Brand any day of the week. The Braun Synchro 7785 is a wonderful bit of technology! Personally, I was never a big fan of electric shavers. I've had a few in the past and have never found it to be as close a shave as a manual shave but the Braun changes everything. I have found it... more

I admit it. I have just spent £94 on a pair of GHD Professional Ceramic Hair Straighteners. Now I'm not proud of spending that amount of money on a beauty product but stay with me,... more
