Braun Oral-B Pro White Brush Heads

After doing my review on my wonderful Braun Oral-B toothbrush I thought I would write a quick review on these replacement toothbrush heads. I had to replace both my boyfriends’ heads and mine the other month and seeing as I was on a trip to Argos I thought I would see if they stocked the head replacements. They did and I was drawn to buying a slightly more expensive head as this one claimed it was a PRO!

The head usually cost around £7 for two from Boots but these PRO heads cost me £9.99 pence for the two heads, which is a little bit more, but I thought I would try something new and see how it worked out. I was pretty happy with the results after using the new heads and whether that was because out other brush heads were very worn or truly because this new PRO design really did work better I am not sure but wither way I am very impressed.

The difference in the standard brush head and this new PRO design is the fact that the few middle brushes that the old head held in the centre have been removed and replaced by a yellow rubber type centre which is said to polish and buff the teeth to bring through the natural whiteness.

The head pretty much looks the same with the same colourings of the turquoise bristles and the white bristles although I think they have shaped the PRO brush head slightly different meaning it really attacks each tooth with an enclosed bristle actions. The main difference of course is this rubber centre which to be honest I was fairly apprehensive of because it doesn’t really look as comfortable to use as the old design does.

The head will fit any of the rechargeable Braun Oral-B toothbrushes except the Oral-B Sonic. This is fine for me as the head perfectly fit both my boyfriends’ brush and mine. The heads come with a various array of plastic colour rings so that you can slightly change the look of your brush from time to time. This is no big deal if you choose to use the plastic ring or not and does not at all interfere with the actual use of the brush.

On use of the new brush head I was pleased to feel that the bristles were not that soft, as I do like the feel of something mildly hard brushing away the dirt from my teeth. The bristles are not overly hard though, that they would make the gums bleed or feel uncomfortable to use against sensitive teeth. The centre rubber section actually felt very nice against the main part of my tooth and did not give any discomfort like it thought it might. The rubber centre did not feel that great when moving the brush over the insides of the teeth or across the top of the back teeth but it just seemed like it would take a little while to really get used to using it.

I have now been using this particular brush head for a while and to be honest I have completely got used to the centre rubber section and I have no problems in using it at all. There is no discomfort whatsoever and I do believe that the appearance of my teeth has greatly improved. I think that the claim that the rubber centre polishes up the tooth really is true.

My boyfriend is finding the brush just as good as his teeth, which are far from perfect, have taken on such a nice shine and some of the nicotine/coffee staining that he was so prone to does not seem quite as noticeable as it was before. Of course I do think that the actual act of changing the toothbrush head itself was a good thing to do, as we were both in need of a new one. However the new PRO action of the Braun Oral-B toothbrush head I feel has given our teeth that little extra boost that I always like to have.

If you have yet to try this particular brush head then I would suggest giving it a go as for the small extra price that you will pay I think that added extra shine has got to be worth the extra cost!
