Iomega eGo portable drives are available for Windows and Mac operating systems and come in five colours: ruby red, midnight blue, silver (alpine white in US), genuine leather and black belt. The capacity options are 250GB, 320GB and 500GB (not all colours are available for each capacity). There is also a special version for Mac users, already formatted HFS+ and with three ports: FireWire 800, FireWire 400 and USB 2.0.
After researching my options I bought a ruby red 320GB original portable series (not the special Mac edition) drive from Misco.co.uk, which cost me £62.08 including delivery. Note, this model (no 34615) can be used in both Windows and Mac computers (although not really recommended for Mac users as you will learn later).

The previous one had no carry case, and that had resulted in an expensive battery replacement after my gel immersed the shaver inside my wash bag on a trip to Amsterdam... ( no not hair gel - shower gel!! )
Third difference in terms of contents of the box, was a much bigger and better cleaning brush. I thought this was a bit surprising since the cleaning unit is supposed to do the job ! But, - silly me, - there are times when you travel and do not want to carry the whole caboodle with you - so just take the brush ! - good idea.!
Then of course, you get the shaver itself, a cartridge for the cleaning unit, some instructions and a guarantee.
3 The Shaver

Braun shavers are fairly distinctive. This one steps in at the usual size - about 7" long, about 2" wide and about 3/4 " deep.

and the blade cleaned, dried and lemon scented. There are two settings ? ?fast clean? gives one cleaning/washing cycle (recharging at the same time) and ?start cleaning? which runs through several wash and dry cycles (and resets the hygiene status to 100% when it has finished and also fully recharges). It is easy and pleasant to you, and let?s be honest it also appeals to the gadget-obsessed little boy lurking inside to many adult men!
I also like that Braun have me one power lead that I can use to plug direct into the shaver, if I wish, or which will plug into the Clean & Renew charging stand, and also given me a tough plastic moulded case I can put the shaver in so it survives travel. When you are travelling (you won?t want to take the whole clean/charge base with you) you can wash the shaver head directly under the running tap.
