Advantages: Easy to use, attractive, long life battery Disadvantages: Not the closest of shaves
I was fed up of disposables going rusty after one use and wanted something that I could use over and over again. I didn't have a lot of money to spend- i just wanted a basic shaver for my legs. However, after browsing vigouresly i saw the 'BraunSilk and Soft Body Shave 5100' and thought it a good deal. I was only looking for cheap leg shaver but to my suprise, the decription stated: underarm shaving, bikini trim AND leg shaving. Along with all the other features like: 'flexible foil', 'softstrip' and 'OptiShave attatchments'. I'm probably impressed to easily, because I had no idea what each feature meant, it just sounded better compared to others in the same price range. I was very impressed when I opened it because: 1, it was so easy to use (just popped in the batteries and off i went) and 2, money off at figleaves for my purchase ...

For some reason, despite being blonde and fairly dainty in other respects, I've been cursed with leg hair that belongs to someone else - someone like my big grizzly bear of a boyfriend! It grows so fast that I usually have to shave my legs every day in the summer, which is a right pain. I've tried hair removal creams and found it just took longer, smelt horrible and didn't last any better, and waxing which brought me out in nasty bumps and didn't even get all the hairs. Bah. Anyway, I thought I'd give this a try as I had nothing to lose other than the 50 quid it cost me from Argos (although it's probably available cheaper online), and I've probably spent that loads of times over on razors and shaving foam... I was drawn in by the promise of smooth legs for 4 weeks - too good to be true?...

Absolutely fantastic. Easy to use, super efficient as it can pick even very short hair. I have been using an old BraunSilk Epil for over 10 years, and although it was still working I decided that it was time to change it, and I bought this one only a couple of weeks ago. I love it. It is so much quicker, and although I did not find the other one painful, this is even less so! It has very good extras like the little rollers attachment that gently massage the area that you are "shaving", or the light (that I thought was very silly to start off with) which actually helps you see if you have missed anything. I can only say that I absolutely love this product and using it! My skin feels so much smoother ever since I have started using it. ...
