I am not awake enough in the morning to manage complex machinery - I wanted something I could almost work on autopilot.
I looked around and found this little Braun juicer - its design is simplicity itself. The top part of the machine is just like the very basic hand juicers that are readily available - the clever thing is that the Braun brings just an element of power to that by having it rotate so that the machine does all the hard work. All you need to do is to cut the fruit in half (and it only really works for citrus fruits), place over the centre of the unit and push down gently. That starts the rotating motion, if you stop by lifting the fruit and press again the machine will cleverly rotate in the opposite direction to ensure you get the maximum amount of juice out of the fruit. I was looking for a good shaver that does the job right, with a smooth and fast shave. After searching around for some time I found this excellent design product from Braun. This is without doubt the best Braun shaver to date. The combination of the new head, foil and cutter assembly has made this shaver the one to beat.
I have used the Panasonic ES 8163 and in many ways this gives a very similar shave, but with the very real advantage of the Braun cleaning system - I'm lazy when it comes to cleaning shavers - it's a chore, but for around £3.50 per month in cartridges you get a consistently cleaned and dried shaver without any fuss, and it really feels new every time you use it in the morning.I've also used previous Braun's shavers and this is a major step forward on everything that's gone before.

One day soon, I will be in a position to write my autobiography, based on the Braun shavers that I have owned and used during my lifetime. I have kept them all, though I have discovered no reason for doing so and no useful purpose for them either.! - it is just a sad reflection on the hoarding tendencies of the Badger clan.!
My last Braun - reviewed 18 months ago, decided to play a very nasty trick on me. The contraption it comes with, which cleans and recharges the shaver after each use, decided to malfunction.!
I searched for a replacment cleaning unit and the cheapest in the UK costs £52. In the States I could get one for $29, but the cost of shipping, VAT, customs etc put me off. Since £52 is half the cost of a complete new Braun system, I used my old brain, and went for a new Braun.
